If I brought my new car in for service and it came out with scratches, I would not be happy. Yup, it will get scratched eventually, but they are my fault and I can live with that. Not the dealer scratching it. I would be pissed.

If your appraiser and/or their shop is affiliated with an AD I would report them directly to Rolex USA and the BBB and request a response from company. Regardless you should be reporting to the BBB.
Lastly, I'd hire a cheaper attorney. I'd bring the appraiser to court for the costs of a new clasp, court fees, legal fees, and misc. The new clasp isn't needed for function but it is to return the watch to original condition post-appraiser handling. They probably will settle out of court. Depends on how fraustrated you are with them, but would be worth sticking it to them IMO. Do you have before and after pics as well for evidence? Don't forget your Rolex is an expensive piece wth a rather large expense claim ability and justifiably so. |

It's not worth your time, money or sanity to go though any time is reporting for a watch scratch.
Just fire your appeaser and leave it alone. You will address the scratch at your next service. Instead of wasting time why not take that thing to the beach and have some fun with friends and family and add a few more scratches for Rolex to polish out. The fact is scratches happen, it sucks that it wasn't you that scratched it but live and learn. |

As the slight scratches have been rectified very easily by the original poster this thread has run its course and subject is closed.
