In Ibiza till mid November and then to Bretagne but I have some business in the island so I'll come every two weeks more or less.

Reminds me, I haven't been in Bretagne and Normandie in a Very long time. I believe I was 6-7 at the time.
I should go there again some day, visit war museums, mont saint Michel, the beaches. Good memories.

Nope. I'm surprised I bought even as mechanical. Quality a bit below what I like. Fun watch though.

the other models also cost less than $250

to answer your question, no. since it's supposed to be a 1970 diver, I think quartz would be a cost-cutting measure rather than a design decision

Ok, thanks! I think at this price point I prefer quartz. A mechanical service is going to be almost the price of the watch, so it becomes ever more expensive, whereas the Japanese quartz will likely just keep on going and keep great time probably for the lifetime of the watch (or me, whichever is shorter!).

Anyway, a 1968 is next on my list

I agree with Adam, at this price point there is nothing wrong with quartz. Should there ever go something wrong with the quartz movement it can be swapped for 20 bucks.

A base model Seiko mech will run without a service longer than almost any quartz. There are thousands and 7Sxx out there that have never been serviced and are still ticking away nicely.

Just took a look at my DH. Lost nearly 14 seconds in 22 hours, and the date wheel is stuck between 21 and 22

Yeah, maybe quartz would have been better

The accuracy is one thing but a stuck date is unacceptable, even at this price.

That's too bad. Try rotating it through a full month, see if that frees it up. Otherwise, just use the return policy.

Sorry to hear @star ferry is having problems with his. Mine has lost 2 seconds in 48 hours, so I can't complain.
It really is a great watch for the $s and it's almost impossible to take a bad photo of it
I slapped mine on a big hole Tropic I'd been hanging onto for a while and it really completes the vintage vibe.

A new Miyota 9015 isn't much more that that!!

Well about $90 for a new one. But a knockoff can be had for less. Is probably cheaper than servicing the old one?? You would know better than I Bas.

Yeah it's not worth the servicing cost, replacing the movement would indeed be the best thing to do.

As for the internship, I will have a signed contract in a few weeks with a local Patek, Lange, Rolex AD, which is also a small official service centre for several brands including Rolex and Omega.
My quest for an internship abroad failed, unfortunately. But things are looking pretty good now.

Happy for you man!! Was talking to my Rolex AD who hires apprentices about your efforts last week as he was losing an apprentice watchmaker.
