Recently bought a sub-c and my AD removed the stickers prior to shipping it to me. I think he did that more as a courtesy though.

If you've done biz with the AD in the past and your AD knew you're not a flipper, then they usually don't care. I always ask my AD to remove all stickers. last month, when they shipped my WG daytona, they didn't remove any. it took me couple weeks to find and remove all stickers.

This is not UK specific. Many dealers in the US have been removing stickers as well.

Nope. New rules now. Picked up our second Daytona C, yesterday, and they had to keep the warranty card for one year and remove the stickers. Although, he only removed some stickers and told us to finish it off, when we felt like it.

This is with my UK AD that has already sold me a Daytona C, SD43, SS Sky D in the past year and invited me and the wife to the London black tie Basel event on 9th May, in London, with full hospitality and hotel stay. So I’d say that we’ve got an excellent relationship with this AD.

We’ve always had them fully stickered, with bezel protectors and the coffin, before. Even my last one, in January, which was the SS Sky D. They told me, yesterday, that these are now the rules that Rolex want them to enforce, to try and stop the Greys and flippers from profiteering.

Yep. First time that they’ve ever done it, but kept the warranty card for one year. Yesterday’s purchase of our “second” Daytona C from my uk AD.

Happened to me when I purchased my GMT Master II Black in Osaka, Japan AD. And asked me whether I am fine with the warranty card will only be send to me after 45 days to my country before the purchase. This was Dec 17. 800,000Yen/7300USD after 8% sales tax deduction.

If this is a Rolex rule, they should not bother apply these stickers anymore. what's the point if they ask the ADs to remove them upon selling?

So the watches have less of a chance of being scratched when the are shown to customers and handled.

The point of the stickers isnt to add value or prevent scratches from the end user... just to protect in during the steps in between Rolex and you.

Yes my AD made me aware that due to Rolex’s recommendation the bosses have decided to implement these rules to certain models he said it came into effect around the time of Basel (he indicated it was advised by Rolex but not a set rule)

But they used to desticker and size the majority of the SS range prior to this anyway, granted my last purchase was March and it came in the coffin (Black Daytona) but when I asked he said he’d work something out for me with these new rules!
Yeah I had the Rolex invite as well but sadly can’t attend due to the imminent appearance of my boy.

Guess we’ll see when a I get a call, but to be honest I’m now happier with AP.

Chat with ad today

First of all I apologise if I’m repeating anything already said in this thread, replying after page 2.
I had an interesting conversation with the manager of an ad in Florida this morning. He confirmed stickers would come off and that they would hold the guarantee card for 30 days. The guarantee card issue was in case of watch returns. I should state that I accept that I may have misheard and therefore cannot 100% confirm accuracy but he said that if a watch was returned and the guarantee card had been issued to the customer then the watch/guarantee card would need input from Rolex to be reissued.
We chatted about the low availability of sports models, in particular the ss Daytona and his view was “why would Rolex want to produce more? They’re a private company/charity and are happy with the way things are, if they want to make an extra million it can easily be done but money may not be their main focus”
I get exactly what he meant and it makes total sense to me and sadly I think the wait for the SS Daytona will continue.
Further to the sticker/guarantee his view is that there are flippers who would buy in each of his stores make $1000 flipping each (Subs) preventing customers who want to buy and keep.
I wish it wasn’t this way but I don’t think it going to change very soon.

For me, an AD removing stickers is not a big deal, it's only a big deal if i was planning on flipping the watch, or unsure of the purchase

I find it strangely satisfying and I'm also a bit weird but for all my watches I've always then stuck the stickers on the inside back cover of the booklet.
I don't know why I did that for my first but continued to do it for my others too.

I do the same too!

My AD in NYC took off all the stickers except for the ones on the clasp. Big meh for me, first Rolex I bought from an AD so Rolex watches coming without stickers was the norm for me. Was actually pretty annoyed at personally removing stickers from clasp.

I picked up a new Milgauss last week from an AD and was thinking if they said that to me I'd have to laugh and say, "Really, I'm going to flip a Milgauss" anyway didn't happen. I peeled off the stickers when l got home. They also gave me the coffin and bezel guard, a Rolex glove and a nice coffee table book and a new hard catalogue. BTW I got 9% off of their last Zblue in stock. I'm a happy one.

I just recently bought a new Explorer 1 from the local Rolex "Boutique." They had no issues about keeping any of the stickers on or providing me the full kit (i.e. shipping coffin, etc.). Oddly enough they said they usually keep the hand tag themselves, which I told them I wanted (and ultimately kept). They did rip off the extra price tag attached.

I wouldn't have too much issues with them removing the stickers, but I can see how someone would want to maintain it (either for themselves remove at home or those who buy the watch just to keep it in the safe as NOS).

I did the sticker peeling on my BLNR last week, at home. And made a video of it.

I bought my 116710LN in Pittsburgh a couple months ago and the sales associate at the AD told me she would have to remove the stickers. I didn't care since the watch was for me and I was going to wear it out of the shop. She sized it and even added a link for free. I would have a problem if they withheld the warranty card, however.

I think the most affected are the salespeople who try to profit from them by selling it to their friends or family and profit share on the flip. Even moreso with some ADs reportedly holding onto the warranty card for a period of time.
