No watches in the shower period!

Why would you take a watch to shower? Swimming in a pool or the ocean is a different thing!

As a kid I used to wear my watch 24/7. But not anymore! Maybe some of us still have that kid in us ;)

No, I'd be worried about accidentally hitting the title with it...

Are we really saying that the shower is too dangerous of an environment for watches originally designed to explore caves, mountains and the deep ocean?

Dangerous? More like difficult to understand (to put it mildly). It's one thing to use it as a tool doing what it was designed for and another to dent it in the shower just for the sake of it. It makes no sense to me. It's like driving hard a sports car in a traffic jam just because it's a sports car. Yep, that guy.

I never take it off as youve got more chance of damaging it from dropping onto the tiles or knocking it off a top than damaging it in the shower
Remember the saying ...the safest place for your watch is on your wrist

Finally actually someone asking this. I was laughing at so many people worried about it.

I don’t really have it on in the shower but have on occasion. If I am spending all this money on a watch it better be able to be able to withstand water, soap etc.

If you are honestly worried about damaging it then you need to call a contractor and get your bathroom remodeled. How small is the shower haha

Funny this came up. I inadvertently got into the shower with my Explorer on this morning, for the first time ever, and cursed myself. Set it on the shelf and hoped it wouldn't fall. All I could think of was inadvertently smashing it against a fixture or dropping it on the tile. And if I am taking a shower, would like to be clean, so why wear a watch?

Facepalms x infinity.

A few weeks ago DJ and I were hiking and got caught in a heavy downpour for at least an hour.

Both survived. The cellphone got sick and had to be buried in uncooked rice to take away the moisture.

Everyday (including my 16520 and oyster quartz 17013 back in the day - wouldn’t shower with those two anymore). Anything with a triplock crown showers with me.

Every single day I shower with a Rolex on. Sometimes multiple times, too.

No big deal. It’s just a watch in water.

Yes, always for the past 30 years. It keeps the watch clean and flushes out any grit in the bracelet. I gently dry it off with a soft towel while it’s on my wrist after showering. Also use my Hulk for scuba diving, isn’t that what theyre designed for? All of my watches go into the water, Breitling, Rolex including my 16618 and Ball.

No I don't. Just use some Dawn every now and then for 15 minutes in a cup and rinse. Then dry with micro fiber cloth. Good luck

If someone showers with a YG Submariner - will that mean the whole event becomes a golden shower?

I did for about 15 yrs, but I got tired of the soap scum build-up, so it comes off these days. If I'm at the pool, beach, or lake, it stays on my wrist.

Simple answer: no. I don’t shower with any jewelry on. Not even my wedding ring.

If I slept with it on the night before yes I shower with it. If I didn’t sleep with a watch I typically don’t put a watch on then get in the shower...however, if I have a tight schedule I will to keep track of time because I have been known to linger in hot showers.

Depends where I am and the environment. If I'm home - absolutely not. If I'm away and don't fully trust my surroundings, don't have a lock on the door, etc - yes.

No, don't want soap scum buildup. I wash with one small drop of Dawn on a soft brush and warm water.
Plus I dropped one in the shower in my much younger years and broke the crystal. Had it serviced and it was fine.
