A bit of a tangent, if your AD sells Rolex and PP (mine does), and you've only bought Rolex, you're probably not even close to one of their best clients simply based off the ridiculous prices of PP. If a PP guy wants that hot new Rolex, he's bumping you down the list for sure.

Update***
I don't know who I spoke to on the phone, it was a female sales person... I just got contacted by the AD and it seems like a genuine contact attempt. Hopefully we will talk by phone and I will have some positive news out of all this negativity. I never intended for this thread to get like this, but I have read so many competing opinions and so many passionate statements that it makes me feel like this is what a public forum is for. Let's see what comes of this, if Lee Perla makes it right (and I don't mean a pepsi tomorrow, but a genuine attempt at fixing the situation), they will be the first to hear my praises and so will you all. stay tuned. |

I just want to be clear, no where did I state I was treated poorly, hung up on etc...I stated a fact that I was quoted 7-8 years, I found that weird and posted it. If they had been rude I would have posted that but that's not what happened.
I get it is not their fault, but more was said on the phone by this sales associate... that I wont share given how ridiculous this thread has become. Either way, they have reached out, which is great. Wasn't looking for it but it happened anyway. I suppose that says something as well. I have personally had enough of this thread Quote:

The OP never ripped Lee Perla. He has every right to be upset that purchasing 6 watches, 2 of which were PM, doesn't even get him the courtesy of "I'm sorry drmovement, we value your business, but we're currently seeing unprecedented demand for that piece and don't know when we will be able to source one for you seeing as how our list has been growing for the past 3-4 months. We'll do everything we can to increase our allocation so you can get this watch, but we don't have a definite time frame at the moment."
7-8 years just means that they don't care enough to put you on a list. It's an absurd number. No one, especially the AD, knows Rolex production plans for the next few years. They certainly don't know if demand will stay this high. Let's not kid ourselves. Over the past 40 years, has there ever been a period where it's difficult to source a steel GMT? Do we all really believe this is the new normal for ss pieces, just because it's been this way over the past 8-12 months (in the US)? I'm glad others who have had great experiences with Lee Perla have responded, but his bad experience is just as legitimate as their positive ones. |

Is it possible that someone here reached out to Lee Perla about this thread and that’s why they called you? Also, David Goo was a pretty honest guy, I had many interactions with him and he was a straight shooter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I know it's a hot watch, and this thread really has been beaten to death. With that said 7-8 years is totally crazy, whether the AD is blowing OP off or not. It's just too long to wait for a modern mass produced luxury item.

What we sometimes fail to realize is there's always a bigger fish out there.
Example my brother in law purchased 8 watches from Tourneau - the Time Machine - in NYC in a 2 month period. He was able to get a new SS White Ceramic Daytona within 45 days of requesting one. While in the store he struck up a conversation with one of their VP's.. So much for lists lol. AD's get calls for the hottest models all the time. Sometimes as Seth has said it's all about the relationship and even then sometimes it just goes to the bigger fish.

I stopped by and met Rick yesterday for the first time. Super courteous and an enjoyable person to talk with about Rolex. I was from out of state, but had a few minutes on my way to the airport...I wasn't expecting to pop in and pick up a BLRO or SS Daytona, but did want to introduce myself as I am in the NYC metro area fairly often on business.
Rick was very straightforward regarding the difficult pieces to source. He is someone I plan to keep in touch with in the future and hopefully do business with one day. |

Dollar amount and frequency dictates how important a client you are. $10-$20k Per year = good client probably. $100k year = VIP. $500k plus. ...rapper. Lol
Curious enough, these are the same numbers the clubs... use. Lol Then again NYC/Tri-state.... |

Setting an expectation 7-8 years away is fraught with errors.
IMHO, it’s be better to say how many of the model that you want has come to the shop over the past year. Then let you do the math if you’re #x on their list. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
