Posh pub/restaurant yesterday for lunch: a very young guy with a RG DD, and a dude with a 16610. I was also wearing my 16610, and only looked up because I sensed someone looking at me as they were leaving. I checked his wrist also, and snap!

'Er indoors was wearing her steel DJ, for a total of at least four Rolexes among maybe 25 punters.

Now that’s a great spot, so lucky to see one of these, and close enough to take a picture as well, superb.

Do you know if the owner likes their watch?

Was at a hotel bar inside a Montage resort and saw a day date 40 rose gold, AP royal oak white dial, and a two tone Datejust. Then of course my hulk haha

My wife thinks it's strange that I notice other peoples watches.....I bet if I bought her one she'd want another. Haha. I was at the zoo the other week with the kids and the chap in front of me to get in was wearing a lovely Daytona in gold on oysterflex. My holly grail.

Not much vacationing these days but my next door neighbor has his rotation of rolexes.

Also, went to Indian wells a few weeks ago and lost count how many subs I saw. Did see a group of women that were there and some were rocking all rg daytonas

I see Submariners constantly in NYC. At least 3/5 Rolex watches I see — and maybe 4/5 — are Subs.

Sounds bad to say, but the ubiquity of the Sub almost kind of turns me off of the watch.

Yesterday, and for the first time, I spotted a new OP 28 or 31 mm on a girls wrist. Then I just went to the Rolex website to check for the dial color name and I realized it was a fake one as it had the double sticks markers at 3-6-9 but OP28 and OP31 don't have them. Bummer.

Don't just blindly assume they are all real. Remember: Rolex pumps out ~1 million watches a year across all models, and only a small percentage of those are actually subs. There are a handful of replica factories in China that are EACH pumping out hundreds of thousands of high end sub replicas every single year. Easily 10:1 fake to genuine. That's not even including the high end frankenstein watch builds where guys will put genuine crowns, dials, bezels, crystals, and hands onto the clone 3135/3130 movement in a replica case. You will never, ever see the difference because anything observable to the naked eye is actually real.

The waiters you see, the fight attendants, college students, homeless guys, the average Joes walking the streets with a sub on... flip the script. Assume it's fake unless you have reason to believe otherwise.

I still am anxiously waiting for my 124060 but it's definitely on my mind. I don't mind that the average person will probably think it isn't real. Draws less attention to myself.
