BLRO video - Mark 1 and 2

This is a Mark II with pics taken Saturday. I angled it while in the sun and got the pastel-ish colors. It is much harder to “find” the pastel colors on the Mark II, but it’s possible. Here a little darker And here even darker

I’m at my cabin which is wood walls and just about wood everything. I tried to get a top down pic without any reflections from the wood interior. Here is the same without the reflective colors (hopefully). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I remember seeing a row of Blue two tone subs years ago, the difference in colour across them all was massive, bezels and dials. However much rolex try there's bound to be a degree of variation, the ceramic mix, the age, the temperature etc, all variables that can change slightly.
And in the final quality check there has to be a range, albeit small thats exceptable. |

Were they ceramic or aluminum inserts? I think one of the key differences and why the color variance matters more today than with 5 digit predecessors, is because ceramic/cerachrome isn’t going to change color with time. What you buy today in a 6 digit cerachrome is what it will be 10, 20, 50 years from now. I think the QC department at Rolex is very picky and has a very high standard. |

There is no doubt in my mind that there is a tiny colour difference visible in both the pictures and video, but in my view this is nothing more than normal variation in the manufacturing process.
fwiw mine is an August 2018 purchase and looks like the darker one but lighting really makes a difference to how it looks which is one of the reasons I love it so much, its a great watch. |

I agree. Mine is from July and looks darker than some here, so more like the Mk II but I think it's a spectrum.

LOL - this thread is hilarious.
MK1 and MK2 WTF? Its just slight variations in dial manufacturing. There's like MK1 MK2 MK3 MK4 MK5 MK6 MK7 MK8 MK9 on pretty much all the Rolex models. People are going stupid over nothing. Your MK1 and MK2 aint going to be worth shit more than each other. |

There is a fair degree of evidence on this forum that would suggest otherwise

1. Slight variation, yes- that has been established for your viewing pleasure. 2. You have not provided any pics or basis of your claim of Mark1 through Mark9. Please post some pics and show us these variations. 3. Congratulations? You are the first to bring a discussion of value into this thread. I’m not concerned with value, rather knowledge/proof these dial variants exist. |

Put your loop away and ask yourself, how many watches does Rolex produce each year? How many of them have missing letters, hands, defective movements, water leakage, anything? I would challenge to you come up with a single company in the world that rivals the consistency of what Rolex produces. |
