Bas, would it be too much asking if you could make multiple threads like this for different models with different complications?

Hey Bas, if you don’t have a laser welder what do you use to restore dents and dings in cases which would typically need a laser weld to restore? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you Bas ! The thread is fascinating and why I enjoy TRF. SO TIRED of the "is it safe", price and lack of availability threads. I hope you can share a few more similar threads.

Did you use a lapping machine to do the case sides, or was it done on a buffing wheel?

Sorry, I got too excited, didn't read further down. I looked too good to just be a buffing wheel. I wish RSC in US could do this quality case refinish.

Final work is free handing the chamfers and polishing them. Which is sketchy to say the least |

Absolutely fantastic thread Bas. Thanks so much for taking us a long as you worked on this movement.
TRF needs to get back to threads like this and stop talking about how much is my watch worth every 5 mins. |

The photo with all of the parts of the movement spread out neatly gave me some serious anxiety. Thankfully not every one is as ham-fisted as I am when it comes to such detail and precision work!

I thought Rolex didn’t service watches with movements that were discontinued more than 25 years ago? There has been some grumbling here about them not serving vintage watches and pulling parts accounts from independents so they can’t work on them either. Is Europe different than the US?

How cool this thread will be to the owner of this watch!
My Submariner is currently at my RSC and I’d love to be able to see something like this on mine!!! Thank you for adding to this already complicated job by taking difficult photos and posting them and their descriptions here! Michael |
