Take a picture of your MK2 or MK1 out in direct UV sunlight, without photo editing. And you will see the purple and cranberry-pink colors come out in both of them. It's how the bezel is manufactured. The red is on top of a cream color and the blue is on top of the red. The UV lighting produces different colors.
Red + Cream =Cranberry-Pink
Red + Blue = Purple

I´d imagine that with all the time you have devoted to influencing for this huge value of the mk1 you would have achieved something by now.

That's interesting.

Take your MK II outside in overcast conditions and get the blue to fade without the red doing so.

Only having a little fun bud. I am really glad that you are enjoying your watch this much that is what it is all about. Just saw your last two posts. I am still wondering about this mk1 mk2 business, and still wondering which one I have. Under direct sun mine looks just like yours. Guess I will just have to wait until my AD gets his second any time now and compare, he already agreed to.

I just got my BLRO today, and as anyone would do, have been staring at my wrist all day. I don't pick up much purple in person, but when I take photographs of the watch using my phone, it exaggerates the purple hue.

So happy for you!

Rarely has a watch intrigued me like this Pepsi.

Guess what?

I share all but the Daytona with you!

Since we have near identical taste I’m sure you will love yours as much as I do mine.

How about we all just strap on our BLROs and enjoy them in whatever light you happen to be in and whatever their perfect imperfections. That’s what the vintage guys do. All this over analyzing the hues is driving me up a wall. I’ve enjoyed my BLR O since I picked it up from my AD in June 2018!

Great taste in watches my friend! Loving every second of it on my wrist. Can't take it off

Full sun shot MK I

Red doesn’t seem to go as pink.

Ambiant daylight Serial # blacked out

Red seems muted compared to MK II?

Lilac tint to blue?

Even in daylight the colours have softer muted quality?

I know we are strangers and it can be hard to take the word of one but, my good sir, I saw them together and they are different. I also doubted the idea until I had undeniable proof in front of me. It is simply a matter of fact.
I've also had both a MKI and MKII in hand the bezel colours are 100% different. The MKI has a bezel exactly the same colour as the original white gold BLRO (which I viewed as red-pink-ish and blue-purple-ish). The MKII has a deeper red and blue which is more in line with the original PanAm model IMHO...regardless, both are beautiful watches.

It’s also wrong. The entire bezel starts red, and the blue is added.

There’s no cream on the ceramic bezel insert. At all

I have a 16710 Pepsi and the mk2 is definitely closer to the original than the mk1, it’s supposed to be red and blue, not pink...ish and purple...ish... both are nice, no doubt. But one thing I have learned about my own blro is that the colors changes a lot according to the lighting conditions.

I know an individual that owns both. He frequently wears the Mk1 BLRO on the left wrist & Mk2 BLRO on the right. I'll try and snap some side by side photos in natural light ASAP. He's a bit elusive however.

frankly, i prefer the colors of the ceramic bezel. and although i very much wish to acquire at some point a birth-year-range 1675, i find the aluminum bezels look cheap to me. admittedly that may be because i’m used to looking at ceramic ones? i do like the size of the 1675 and it’s wearability. and clearly tastes are subjective; there is no wrong answer with what one prefers.

when i have the BLRO meteorite and BLRO SS together i will be HIGHLY curious as to any differentiation between the two bezels and will certainly update with photos when both are here.

If you want to make clever comments then you at least need to show logical consistency.

How can I own something you imply is a hoax?

They all change according to lighting conditions. If there is a difference (IMO), it has to do with quality control when coloring the ceramic. So far for me, does not deserve a different label. My BLRO sometimes looks like the "MK1", and other times as the "MK2".
If it was so different, it would have different value or be labeled as such, in the grey market.
BTW, I do not mind being proven wrong.

Go over to the MK I owners thread, there is a member who owns both and RSC London seems to have confirmed it

If you take a pic they say it's the lighting. Those who do not want to believe will only change their mind once they've seen both together in the flesh.
Yes there's two versions, why is this still a discussion

Great real-life shot of the rendering they have had on the website since launch. Thanks, Bas!

I tried on a friend's in my office about a week ago. He just got one last month so certainly a MK II. Lighting in my office is really warm, so that obviously affects a lot of what I see with my own eyes and how it photographs. That being said, even without looking at it as a picture I was shocked how deep the blue looks inside with warm, ambient lighting. I almost thought this was a Coke!
