Congratulations!

I have just had the call from my AD, a P01 is in their safe with my name on it.
Can't make it tonight but I will be trying this on for size tomorrow afternoon.

What size is your wrist by the way?

7 and a quarter inches, I will wear it but I don’t think it’s an everyday watch, the AD did say they may only get one and I had to be pre approved by Tudor first

Ok thanks my wrist is similar, overhang seems minimal from your wrist shots.

Did they apply the price increase, pm if needs be.

I am pretty sure I will be buying this piece tomorrow, happy to wear it in rotation with my more conventional stuff.

I was told the same just now.

Same situation for the All Blacks Chrono, AD had to submit a form with reasons why you were honoured with the opportunity. Tudor trying to push the exclusivity boundaries. Mine came back approved but I had changed my mind and declined as I am not a flipper, quite enjoyed that moment, AD couldn't believe I would reject the "opportunity"

FFS they really do have their head up their asses don't they.
That might explain why I've not had the "call " after all a pauper like me who's only bought 3 Tudors and a Speedy from them may not be deemed worthy of being bestowed with one.

It’s a Rolex thing as well, not sure if it’s new but if you ask for a sports model now they enter your details and send them off to Rolex/ Tudor if it’s a hard to get model.

I did the same with the All Blacks, it’s not my cup of tea, I’m not that bothered with chrono watches

Makes me grateful that Rolex don't currently make a watch I want.

Looks like a Grand Sekio Spring drive is in my future then.

Never heard of this - I’m not doubting the authenticity of what you are saying at all - it’s just a new one on me

Did you get to see the approval form the AD sent in to see what they had to say?

I guess this would then indicate the P01 will be an allocation only piece and perhaps not that many of them being available

Certainly interesting

Its standard now for Rolex sports models, it will be to stop flippers

Rolex game is now turning into an online role play game.
You must earn up to certain level in order to handle certain models of their watches.
What a joke.

I got one as well, definitely wears large on the wrist due to the almost straight lug design, overall it’s a fun piece and is quite comfortable on the wrist

I had a quick look, it was a list of purchases from the AD Group over the last few years, nothing too sophisticated. Mine mentioned I was a "collector"

I think it’s called a registration of interest, my instruction booklet is to follow, did anyone else get one? I have the PDF for now

Get them while you can. I bet production will be 2 years before the P-02 comes out. So while not Ltd... it will be Ltd.

If they do continue the series then it will be a nice story

Who knows, maybe they’ll even finish up with a prototype tudor submariner

I wonder if this is more to do with the AD rather than the customer

As in, having to name the buyer is a measure to stop them popular references selling to a grey

I wonder if this just goes to the local Rolex/Tudor rep rather than HQ, and do they really have to ‘approve’ it

Does this happen for a piece that is already in stock or only if it has to be ordered in?

The P0-1 is not a conventional watch and that’s why it will look different on all wrist sizes, I don’t think a larger wrist would help, it sits snug on my wrist due to the curve on the deployment buckle, if the 12 o clock claw was the same size as the 6 o clock it would improve the look, I hardly know it’s on now.

I want so badly to like this watch, but the bottom locking mechanism and the crown at four with guards make it look like the watch is drooping, or Salvador Dali was involved in the design. Neat idea tough.

The shrouded crown at 4 is a design language firmly established by Seiko Divers for many years.

The locking mechanism is certainly something polarising though. I am due to handle one later today, it is the only way to know if this piece works for me and my 7.25 inch flat wrist.

It's a heck of a lot of bulky engineering just to keep a 12 hour bezel straight. Hardly one of the great horological conundrums of our time. I could understand if it was a vital dive bezel, but it seems overkill for a timezone tracker.

I suppose in the modern era of bezel ratcheting quality it is nonsense but the watch is a tribute to a prototype from a different era where perhaps this type of failsafe lock was deemed necessary in military applications.

That would be cool for early owners like yourself and hope it’s true . However I remember when the numbered Pelagos LHD watch came out, people were saying the same thing. Yet the case numbers keep getting longer and longer

I didnt think the P01 was a number piece - am I wrong?

Good on everyone for trying something different - who knows what the future holds
