Try buying one
For all those claiming that there is a recession or that one is imminent and people will be throwing Batman and Pepsi and Daytone watches out the window before they jump, are you aware that the US stock lmarket broke yet another record yesterday? Yesterday.
Edited If you don't like the new Batman, don't buy one. Oh wait, you still can't buy one for the new, higher MSRP a anyway. When you see the, in AD cases, then that's the evidence. When you get a discount, that's the evidence. The grey market pricing may have eased, but the watchers are still selling at a premium. Question: why do people call the GMT a "sports" watch? What sport is it for? Overseas conference calls? LOL Air transportation? LOL Last edited by Tools; 26 December 2019 at 11:29 AM.. Reason: political |

The news from the big dealers is that the current watch market is soft. Big decrease in demand from only 6-12 months ago and the concensus is that its going to keep dropping in the gray market. No-one here is saying the BLNR/BLRO or whatever is going to sell under MSRP anytime soon but those ridiculous crazy markups are long gone and ppl are just not jumping on them at listed prices from the grays on here. There is a massive gray market world out there outside of TRF. |

Not quite how it works. But, that opinion does support the ‘you didn’t build it’ mantra of the left.

It doesn't hurt to contact David and see what he can do, though I'd be surprised if he built that much margin into the website price.

Just wondering. I have no intention of paying anything over MSRP. I like the Pepsi, just not willing to get caught up in the hype. Been there done that with other things. Learned my lesson. In the end, it’s just a watch. I’ve been very enamored with the Zenith El Primero, and that can be had for 20% off MSRP. I don’t care about future value.

Hmm. Ridiculous Grey prices might be falling but good luck finding blnr at any ad for retail. They are def still popular. Any ss is popular now.

Seems like lots of people have been lucky. And that is only the minute fraction of people that post about new watches online. What about the thousands that don’t post “incoming “.

BLRO will win the collectibility war. I doubt the number of BLNR fans has decreased, but BLRO will remain more desirable.
Personally I would rather wear black/blue than red/blue. My wife only wears her old BLNR anymore. She had no desire to switch to our BLRO.

The BLNR has come down quicker in price than the BLRO. Most seem to love the Pepsi look more than the black and blue. I have had the BLNR on oyster, which I did like a lot but when the BLNR on jubilee came out, I was intrigued but then my AD called me on the BLRO and I became hooked on the jubilee. Now many on here prefer the oyster but in my collection, it is full of oyster bands and I really prefer the GMT on a jubilee. I traded my oyster BLNR for the BLNR on jubilee and have been wearing it the most. It goes with almost everything and the jubilee is so comfortable.

This, or close to this--when one can get one at an AD with a six month wait maximum. I believe this to be a few years away. Rolex don't want that to happen. This bubble is serving them well, but they know it will end.

Except on his Nautilus, Aquanauts, and Daytona's (these seemed to have softened a little--but only a little.). Healthy margins still.

We don’t know what prices the trusted sellers get these watches for, but I can guarantee you they aren’t msrp...I’m sure there is a fair amount of markup but not what most people think off the cuff. |

You can almost see it at every turn, so why give value to a mass produced product?

My point was that if you just held from last year to this time, and didn't do anything on buying, selling, hedging etc, you scored by just sitting on your decent holdings. NASDAQ over 9000 for the first time, right now. If the Dems lose the House and Trump wins again, the economy will be flush with even more liquidity (ignoring the bank repo/Fed action for now). Luxury goods like watches will be in even more demand and demand drives price. BTW- a film is being made about the allegedly corrupt Fall River, Massachisetts mayor shaking down businesses and recreational cannabis store applicants. One of the most widely reported bribes was a MT Batman 2.0. Knowing Rolex and its marketing prowess, that watch gets on screen in the film. I see that supporting demand and thus price. Local media and some national had some articles like "What is a Rolex Batman," "Why is a watch named after Batman." Etc |

I think it's hilarious that people get offended by the "Batgirl" nickname. Are people honestly that insecure?

Surely you've noticed that social media is turning into just one massive snowflake of mental illness, so yeah people who are trying to show off are a little bit sensitive to their prized possession being ridiculed, kind of defeats the purpose.
