I've been wearing watches for 45+ years, the only damage to any watch I've been wearing has been down to me, not anyone else.

If you have a house on a golf course, golfers that break your windows in the normal course of playing golf, are not responsible for breaking those windows.
You wore a piece of jewellry in public, it is forseeable that some damage may incidently occur in the course of whatever activity YOU engage with, including the hypotheticals that you can reasonably concieve. Now if someone assaults you or creates some other act of gross negligence or wrecklessness, yes, they are liable. But damage in the course of normal life, is never going to be something they'd be liable for. |

If someone did damage your watch, try asking an adult for their course of action.

I gotta say that one of the main reasons I even HAVE a Rolex (as opposed to any other watch) is because it's fairly damage proof. It's a tool watch, or at least used to be, and any scratches on it are a badge of honor, not an excuse for legal action...

Exactly the same "left writ to left wrist" collision happened to me many years ago at an airport. Actually chipped the sapphire crystal of my old Sea Dweller. It's a battle scar. It happens. Life in and by itself is not without risk, and if you cannot live with the risk of your watch being scratched while wearing it, I suggest you just don't.
