I wish I had thought of that. I don't have a GPT account but someone should definitely plug that in.

It takes someone new all of 10 seconds to find it. I say this because I have handed my 126610LN to someone who noticed and commented on the serial number placement right away.

Real or fake, entertaining story. The members reactions are equally as remarkable.

Cool wind in my hair
Need a drink and a pit stop

Up ahead in the distance
I saw a red bulls eye
My range grew short and my bladder full
Had to stop for a bite

As I stood in the doorway
I heard the Tesla bell
And I was thinking to myself
"I thought I locked it, but I couldn’t tell"
Still I stepped into Target
Then a coke and a pee
When I got back to the Tesla, dear
What then did I see?

Welcome to the lost Rolex Daytona
Valuable quarry
Unlikely story
There’s plenty of hope in the Rolex Forums postings
But we can’t deny
Probably all a lie

Serial searching on Google
finder of the lost
Sees a thread and responds in kind
Unaware of the cost
And then he’s calling the owner, not far away
You can meet me down in Placerville
Discovery: Rolex

Welcome to the lost Rolex Daytona
Valuable quarry
Unlikely story
There’s plenty of hope in the Rolex Forums postings
But we can’t deny
It may all be a lie

Pure genius, brother!

There are still good people in our world. The watch founder, not only is a GIFTED law enforcement officer but he’s also truly a GREAT human being. After careful analysis of our trip, the only place the bag could have been stolen from our car was at an In N Out in Livermore, CA. On the officer’s day off, he was driving on HWY 88 (~100 miles away) and noticed a bag on the side of the road, stopped, opened and looked. The contents were a mess inside as a result of a broken bottle of wine (probably from the thief throwing the bag out of a moving vehicle). He did notice a hard to see small pocket on the outside of the bag and saw the watch. He decided to leave the bag where it was and brought the watch and another verifiable item home. He discussed with family members how to find the owner and decided to post on the forum; thus, his Rolex handle is "Finder of the Lost.” We met at his work today and received the watch in a memorable meeting. The watch has sentimental value that might be greater than its monetary value, and we will be always be grateful to this special person. I also would like to thanks the members of this forum who sent good wishes and a big shout out to Perf0rmance for alerting us Finder of the Lost’s post.

How about a picture at this reunion. I am sure we would all like to see it and join the celebration.

Lucky you say....Karma....just blessed..yeah and lucky!

one of the times i was getting divorced, it took 21 months, i was homeless, living anywhere i could and broke. I found a ladies bag at a grocery store parking lot in a grocery cart. It was full of cash ($500), $30 worth of quarters, a blank check signed with no name on signed to the order, a social security card, insurance card and a drivers license. I was broke but i couldnt keep it. I went to the address on the license, she didnt live there any more but they were able to find her. Ohhh she was shocked and so happy and she tried to give me some of her money but i couldnt take it...i told her that if she ever found something that wasn't hers to pay it forward...because i have lost and somehow it has been returned back to me...Karma Man!!!
Yes, Karma, as my husband always said. It's easy to hide behind a key board bashing people. Do people think we have time to play game? We were so sick to our core until a kind member alerted us to "Finder of the Lost." Thanks to my son and his colleagues at MPD for guiding us through the process. I am trying to figure out how to post a picture. Perhaps someone can DM. Thanks.

Glad your watch came back up you. Still can’t get over what the odds would be in something like that. Crazy story.

And there's the picture. The world is indeed a good place. Any cynicism was entirely misplaced.

It was a very unusual set of circumstances. Humanity wins a prize today.

WOW! This story should remind us of how many good and wonderful people there are in this world, especially when we're bombarded with constant negativity by mainstream and social media.

Good Karma!

To both of you - the “lossee” and the finder - this tops my recovery of a Platona via help from TRF’ers. This case took only days by good fortune; mine took over 4 years.

Congrats and props to your faith in good deeds and to the finder’s Good Samaritan role.

And this shows the value of posting a serial number + Google crawling all over TRF to post the threads containing the info.

Congratulations! The stars have aligned, i'm willing to bet 99.9/100 times the watch wouldn't make it back to it's original owner. Member: finder of the lost turns out to be law enforcement officer, wow! The craziest lost and found story i've come across. Buy a lottery ticket now
