2023 New Releases - I Think I Cracked It

The 40mm ‘Explorer’ could be a 40mm Explorer II in gold/steel. That would explain the triangle GMT hand and updated position of the ‘II’ on the dial.

Would also jive with the fact there’s no URL for a GMT, although that’s a bit more of a stretch as it simply may not have been jndexed yet

But I think it’s more likely the Explorer I given the direct picture of that in the beginning

Ross - Thanks for the IT work. Please keep an eye out for new indexed links as I am sure there are more to come since the obvious GMT isn't listed.

If they did a titanium sub with a teal dial I would lose my mind and would be next on my list.

Damn good work PartyRoss.

Question for you, I don't know anything about URL stuff but is there anyway to see when a certain page is going to be dropped (like when they discontinue something) or do they actually go in and manually that page then they are ready.

With a IT background I can get behind this method of trying to find leaks over the photoshopped threads. Bravo OP for thinking to tackling this issue with a new angle.

Thanks for posting.

So this is perhaps the most intriguing. It could be a new line of dress watches.

You can swap out "fred" in the above with pretty much anything you want, hit enter, and you will see the same error message that the URL's I posted generate.

The difference is that I utilized a paid software tool to download over 30,000 indexed URL's and then combed through them to find the URL's I posted. I am not saying this is 100% what we're going to see, but it mostly aligns with the teaser video and certainly seems feasible.

Rude and disrespectful, IMO.

Again, the difference is that Rolex created the URLs that OP provided (proven by the fact that Google indexed those pages), using the professional tools of his trade (Screaming Frog?), while you just made up a URL out of thin air as a layman who didn't understand what the OP was presenting.

Which of those two sounds more like "crap?"

Let's keep things more civil!

No, the intent was not to be disrespectful at all. It was to acknowledge the notion that any made up html file name/link produces exactly the same result. Another user called BS and I made up two file names that produced the same - proving the point. Sorry for the miscommunication.

It's a good reminder to not try to be authoritative when outside of our areas of expertise (I think it was Mencken who defined an "intellectual" as doing just that). I called out the "BS" comment too; it's not personal.

Or maybe its a white dial Sub. with a 3-6-9 dial.
Even though it has 40 in a name it doesn't mean it will be exactly 40mm in size, it can be 38 or 39 as previous Explorer. There are plenty examples where Rolex doesn't keep to the exact specs. OP 34 is 32mm, 40mm Daytona is 38mm in reality.

Good work OP- I may be missing something but why is everyone jumping straight from these URLs to thinking all of these models got some kind of full overhaul?

Couldn’t “new Daytona” or “new submariner” just mean some new dial/bezel combo as speculated since it’s the anniversary?

I’m seeing people talking about date wheels and moving the chrono locations and 41mm and discontinuing the 40mm but in reality it will probably just be a new color scheme.

I’m guessing the most drastic change will be a new lefty version of something.

Good work OP! It's the most believable rumor at the moment and a 1:1 match with the official leak video.

The best consultants in the digital marketing space are sought out by the big brands, not necessarily vice versa. Rolex doesn't dictate the terms or prices of digital consultants. The best among them are very selective about who they do business with (slightly ironic in this case).

And how vital are the best in SEO? Best way to consider that question is to understand that Google hired an SEO team to help with issues around the launch of the chrome browser! If Google needs search help, we all do.

And the price is the price. In my 15 years in the industry, I've not once pursued an "outbound lead" and never discounted the services our teams provided. The ROI dictates the value, not the company.

This. No point really in doing a true 40 Explorer when it's just a redialed AK. Rolex used to do that all the time, but has really been moving towards distinct cases/sizes for each model.

Not debating the value or the rates. My point was Rolex and most watch companies arent focused on their IT or data analytics projects, so expect some mistakes here and there until more investment is made within. Lets not forget that watches are only recently became a sort of mainstream asset class so previously all this SEO or web security wasnt a priority.

Most of the roles are in Switzerland and not in any type of IT hub or major city. Rolex in general pay their people like crap and rely on their name brand to retain talent. At least they used to offer their employees watches at cost but no longer.

I'm sure that Rolex has internal digital marketing teams and project managers but, like nearly every other big company, those in-house people lean heavily on external consultants and/or teams. In many (maybe even most) large companies, the internal digital team or lead spends more time as shepherd for the consultants than as practitioner of technical projects.

In the case of our OP, he was inquiring (tongue in cheek sort of) about consulting for Rolex, not actually joining their team as an employee. That said, I do recognize that you were just having some fun at Rolex's expense.
