For a diver/tool watch, yes, it’s a no brainer.
I personally like the darker, toned down look. The light weight is a huge benefit overall.

The Pelagos 39 is what I wanted from either side of the house.

Tudor did it first, so I wait on mine to show up.

It's pretty much a titianium 5 digit.

If Rolex did a matte / Ti Sub, I'd most likely transition to that on the Rolex side.

Patek Philippe Aquanaut weighs substantially less than a Pelagos 39 TI. Never hear anybody complain about how it feels cheap or tinny or underweight. Most Rolex are the bricks of the watch world. A Daytona on rubber or leather deployment weighs less than the Pelagos. A lot of the weight on modern Rolex come from the bracelets. Daytona on Bracelet weighs 140 grams , on leather or rubber using a Rolex clasp 99 grams . Pelagius 39 104 grams .

I very much like the titanium and ceramic cases out there.

I have yet to find a brand however, that makes the perfect size and fit of one. Most brands have some sort of quirk. Cases are too big, too thick, or lug to lug is too long or too short.

Rolex could make the perfectly sized titanium piece!

I've had a cheap beater in the past that scratched really badly.
I don't even remember what kind of it was. It was well before I was "into" watches, and I got it as a gift.

I currently have a DLC coated Ti Oris watch. And it seems to be holding up really well. Doesn't really feel that light though as it's an automatic, and is decently weighted because of that.

The only Ti watch on my list that I really want is an FPJ Octa S Ti with yellow dial.

I'd have to see a Rolex in it to feel it.
I'd much prefer Steel or PM tho.

This is what Rolex has to say about titanium watches. “Lightness – a quality to be taken seriously”. The new titanium YM I think will be very successful for Rolex. It has a tool vibe that most Rolex watches lost a long time ago. Maybe the anniversary submariner will come out with titanium as well. Personally, I didn’t like titanium after owning several watches that were made from TI . Then I purchased the Pelagos39 . Most comfortable watch I’ve ever owned , not too light not too heavy.

I'd absolutely buy a Ti Rolex watch. I own that metal in three different marques, including a Tudor LHD Pelagos, which I love. My Panerai PAM0025 Sub and Oris ProPilot X Calibre 115 are both terrific titanium watches.
