A PI won’t really do anything, pay money with questionable results in a case like this. I had actually spoken with a PI awhile ago earlier in this case. They work to the police and sometimes police doesn’t cooperate well. They don’t really guarantee results or that anything will be recovered. So what’s the point of a PI if a police detective wasn’t able to get anywhere with the information provided by the watchregister? In any case all of the watches were stolen without any box or papers (which I still have). Who knows where my watches will end up? Regardless, all the serial numbers are registered with Rolex as stolen. Also in other databases such as watchregister for the non Rolex watches. This whole experience has really turned me off to watch collecting. Our house it fortified now. |

wow, very sorry to hear of your loss, thanks to the garbage local city govmts of socal.
Well too late now but try getting an under the ground safe, like the ones used by businesses and gas stations, something like this: https://www.dkhardware.com/amsec-ame...4aAgZBEALw_wcB You need to have an acetylene torch to break into this. No other tools will work. My safe is about 2x size of a carton of milk. It is installed in such a place that it is a hassle for me to go to it. Many times I feel like wearing my rollies but the laziness of it makes me content with wearing my GSHOCK.... The main thing is if you find it...even if you do, you will not be in a normal body position to even touch it... Lets say your spine will go into a figure 8 for you to even touch it.... My wife has to give me a 3 day advanced warning so I can warm myself up to access it... |

And you’re right, I heard from the police detective that the LAPD is underfunded and these burglars and frequently let off witb just a citation, especially by our previous lousy DA who has now been replaced. Someone was definitely watching the house when this happened and waited for to break in during a short window of time. The only other solution is a strong neighborhood watch. When I think back about it, it’s still incredible to believe that at least 2 people just left our house with a heavy safe and no one noticed. |
