25 draughtsmen, replaced by one man and CAD....progress!

Soooooooooooo much yes!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh i miss seeing those. Dad used that stuff a lot back in the day.

Side Story: About 20 years ago was at the USA's oldest public library and they were giving away some of the very old books. One was a set of ?1920s? Tradesman books, so one could learn a trade and understand the underlying 'technology' and operation. Besides the incredible info, which surprisingly much of it does 'translate' to today's plumbing, electrical, etc work... the drawings (by freehand and technical) were in some cases works of art in and of themselves! These drawings were a big key to helping new tradesmen to understand what they were looking at, and the task at hand to build / solve / fix / service.

Carefully read them a few times over the years, and eventually gave away that set of technical books to someone else so they live on....

Soooo many beautiful technical drawings.....
