AP forgot to size it before shipping it to me. Since I moved away from NYC there aren't any close boutiques.

Care to share a few thoughts on the watch? Trying to understand whether the bezel actually scratches...

Probably too early for him to tell / test. That said, I saw an RD 2 prototype with BMG that was heavily scratched and worn by Olivier Audemars.

Even ceramic scratches too, my ceramic ROC has a few deep ones on the bracelet

I thought ceramic didn’t scratch?

Hasn’t scratched yet but only wore it twice. Bezel shines beautifully and super light watch. The dial looks more burgundy than pictures. On the wrist I’m in love

Huh, that’s certainly eye-opening. I thought that was a big part of the tech hype behind ceramic for AP, Rolex, etc. I guess nothing is impervious to scratches…except maybe diamonds, but that’s out of scope here.
Thanks for pointing this out.

This was Olivier’s prototype RD2 with BMG - as you can see, still scratches and he probably wears it hard.

My guess is BMG is less scratch proof than ceramic but more so than platinum. Flip side is BMG is more “elastic” than ceramic so less brittle if dropped

Diamonds also scratch, against other diamonds.

I'm assuming diamonds did that. The few "scratches" I've ever had on my CE pieces were really just material transfer, not an actual scratch in the CE. Do you know if AP can refinish ceramic during a service? Or would they just replace links?
