Worth paying $3k premium for? GMT Master II 126710BLR

All, i am contemplating to put $3k on top of the retail for 6 months old watch?
Typically, a used watch will be selling for less than retail, but not for this one.

Please advise.

That's what's been happening in the Rolex world, with the current supply shortage the cost is going up, not down. But you didn't give us enough details to know if the watch you are considering is a good deal, and I don't think this thread is the right place to ask that question.

I'd post a new thread with pictures and a few more details of the watch you are considering, to see if the price is fair.

Acquired mine luckily 1 week before it was discontinued, with hardly any wait. Maybe mention of it being for my 3 week old daughter who was with me swung it! Either way, amazing piece made even more special with the sentiment behind it. Cheers

This one is “new to me.” My first YG piece. I always said I could not pull it off, but I’m sure going to try!

And this is the state of the GMT collection. Y’all know - I love GMTs. And I have another 16710 Coke, inbound. Merry Christmas!

That looks amazing!

Are you saying you sold this watch 50 years ago OR you brought it 50 years ago?

I purchased the watch from the original owner and he purchased it brand new in December 1969. The watch was born in 1968 and came to me as a full full set!

Got mine on December 7th. Could not be more pleased. I wore a Submariner daily for 12 years because I could not acquire a GMT Master ll from an AD until the call finally came. Must say with the Jubilee bracelet this watch is comfortable. I also like the black blue combination bezel it makes sense blue for day and black for night and just has a classy look. Very pleased Rolex distinguished the look of the GMT by changing to the Jubilee bracelet. After 20 day's it has lost only a fraction of a second amazing accuracy.
