No way in hell I would that now. That picture reminded me of it. One trick we had was to blast the cabin heat. It blew on the lower part of the windscreen. You would end up with a 3"x5" hole in the ice you could see through to land. |

And this pilot was indeed disoriented. I talked him out of 2 "death spirals." This incident made the local news and the pilot was interviewed. He said he was fine and could have made it on his own. But that it was easier with my help. I too am a pilot and took that as a slap in the face. |

Sounds like a "young bold" pilot to me. I can't count how many times ATC had my back. Thank you for all you do.

I thought it was a cart shift too. I read an account of a loadmaster who watched the vid yesterday and he said it looked exactly like that's just what happened.
Look how he wallows and then flattens out. I'm sure as he the cg shifted that was the best aoa he could manage.

"Gerry Beck crashed his Mustang in 2007. "
The Gerry Beck accident happened directly in front of the president of our flying club and myself. Had to think long and hard about whether to return to Oshkosh the following year. |

Saw this today at work. I'm not positive, but I believe it's the last B-29 still flying. Sorry about the pic quality, but still I thought it was cool.

Yep, that's Fifi, the last B29. It will be at Oshkosh air show next week and so will I.
