Hey, at least you're humble about it.

I don't find any issue with it as long as you try to finish most of your sentences off with, "Like a Boss"

Nautilis?........receiving a watch like this before you can even spell is just wrong. Anyway when did this become a forum for flash 16 year olds?

I had hoped, like many of us that this thread would suffer a natural ending. Unfortunately it's like a cable vampire show. My biggest beef is that this is probably fiction. The OP refuses to post pictures and in my book, no picture = doesn't exist. Fiction or not, it has been a good representation of our values and how we want to reward children. My kids do not have Rolex's and European cars. Nor do they expect them. As parents we have done a fairly good job of imparting values and work ethic. One day they will have these things, should they want them. We as parents have done something better, we have taught them how to live a life where anything is possible if they apply themselves. Locking this thread would make many of us happy.

He did post a photo.

But yes - an AP forum is for talking about the watches and threads like this are getting tiresome.

Thanks for setting me straight. I went back and saw the OP post with the image. I stand corrected. My comments about values stand.

i haven't read every post here as i don't think i agree with the majority view on page 1. if you like watches enough to know what an ap 15400 is and you've got one i'd wear the hell out of it. send photos to this watch forum and tell us how it goes. pls tell us about accuracy, whether anybody notices it, whether anybody cares etc. please do not put it in a drawer and do not save it for special occasions only. just put in on your wrist and know that 99% of people won't know what it is.

BTW whilst i'd love to have an AP 15400ST i do think the blue and white dials are preferable. what are your thoughts in this regard? was it your preference? also sorry if you have covered this but did you get to unwrap it as a surprise or did you pick it out at the store?

Enjoy the watch!

!!!!!!!you may manage your money well, but spend it unwisely. I'm sorry but an AP at 16 for daily wear just makes you and your family a target for those on the lookout and you won't be street wise at your age to notice. It will make you appear (to those who judge by appearances only) like spoilt brat. At 16 people will just consider that your rich daddy bought you it, at 21 people will at least give you the benefit of doubt and think you're doing very well for a young guy. Who are you trying to impress anyway? If you just want to enjoy it then stick it on a winder on your bedside table maybe even ask Santa for a Scatola del Tempo winder.

If the watch is yours already then I'd put it away until you are 18 at the earliest.
You would not say the same thing had you had an AP at 16!!!

I think one should be able to wear whatever they wish as long as they act accordingly. I mean don't flaunt it and such but if you just think of it as an accessory that you truly appreciate then by all means wear it :)

very sound advice.
I would also leave it in a safe when you go to college. When you graduate you will have a nice watch ready for everyday use

There is no right or wrong in life. There is just anarchy. I just don't understand why a person has to be old to do anything, what if he/she (god forbid) died young.

If you or your family can afford something, I would not be asking others for their approval/opinion. I would ask myself or my family. End of the story.
