Very interesting thread. I was just comparing perceived weights between my 16622 and 16570. Obviously the platinum in the bezel of the YM was going to add some heft, but based on this thread (and google) the watches are ~ 147g vs. 117g. Clearly more than just difference in materials, but both 40mm cases from approximately the same era (2005 vs. 2001, in my case), but 25% more regardless of where the increase lies.

This thread suggests the bezel alone on the YM is ~10g, with another 3-5g from the dial (which I find suspect):

Anyhow, if you've never put on a full plat Rolex, you'd be amazed at the weight of it. It's almost as if you can feel the density of the metal- it's both awesome and exhausting at the same time! Doesn't make me want a Platona any less, though...

Tried on a friend's Platona and couldn't get over the weight. I don't think I could lug that thing around on my wrist all day.

Speaking strictly for myself, I bought this particular scale so I could weigh coffee, going into the porta filter then weighing the amount of coffee going into the cups. Others may have better and different uses for their scales, other than to weigh their Rolex watch
That looks like some good coffee.

Well first, here's the weight of my Explorer 36mm (114270) as a benchmark:

103 grams

And now, the Breitling Blackbird 39.8mm (A13350):

153 grams

Both are sized for a 6.7 inch wrist. Apart from the case thickness, diameter and chronograph movement, the Blackbird also has "solid" centre links so is heavier and maybe not as comfortable as the Explorer. Doesn't have the famous Rolex rattle though!

I love it. It was like going from a compact to a full-size sedan. At first I felt uncomfortable with the footprint and size. Now, I couldn’t have it any other way.

Besides, my left arm could always use a workout ;D

I love it !

My wrist is only 6.25 but i just love its design and overall look - not sure why people hate it so much just because it has ROLEX ENGRAVED on it.

Thank you very much!! So that's heavy but not crazy. Good to know!

My SS sub date ceramic 116610LN is 152gms with two links removed. And I still find it little heavy on my now slim 6.5” wrist after losing some excess weight.

I don’t like thick and much heavy watches but I love the SS Blue Skydweller. But I guess it would be better for me to go for a SS blue DJ41 instead for my next watch. Better chances of availability and slimmer and lighter. Would be better on my wrist I guess. But still am curious about it’s weight if anyone has measured a SS and a two tone Skydweller.

Really great thread! Does anyone happen to have one of the newer Yacht-Master 126622 in Rholesium that they could weigh? I’m on the list, and interested to see how the (smaller) 40mm weighs compared to my (larger) 42mm Explorer II, given the soils 950 platinum bezel.

Not seen a CHNR yet, so popped mine (with removed links) on the scales (zeroed with microfibre cloth)

Popped the others on too for fun (again including all links)

And the 16600
