Disagree - NOTHING looks as good as ROLEX Blue - I truly believe the stunning slick wet look of the brilliant Rolex Blue is the sole reason the BATMAN sells so well..I mean, no one on here really talked much about the GMT II C in black - I know because I has one (and loved it!!)..

Don't get me wrong - the HULK is amazing too. I was just about to buy the HULK when I thought - If I am going to only have 1 sub its gotta be the best - plus, the white gold sub was the first ROLEX that truly sung to me..THat blue nestled in soft white gold - i just love it

I agree, it looks a bit cheap for a Rolex.

I would certainly not say it looks cheap, however it's not for me. I do like the look, I just can't wear the green often enough to justify it. I love the Subs but the black are the most appealing and ideal/versatile for me personally. Second would be the TT Sub blue dial.

I like it in a light where the dial is almost completely black with just a hint of green. But at direct sunlight it just doesn't work for me. It reminds me of those $5 plastic watches sold at gas stations.

What do you think?

I had a love/hate thing with the Hulk. In the end I realised I loved the exclusivity, relatively speaking, rather than the watch itself - so flipped it for a SD4K which not only looks timeless but also looks better on my small-ish wrist.

It blows my mind this thread is not only alive but so many members agree with the OP.

Easily one of the best looking watches Rolex makes for me and I've owned a bunch.

For me it has always been the fear of a lack of compatibility with my wardrobe. But cheap has never come to mind. I like Kermit a lot and will likely source a nice wearer.

Agree! And regarding fitting the wardrobe look - the green looks great with beiges, creams, white, and pastel colors.

It is an awesome watch but the green of the bezel doesn't work for me. It's a bit too "dull".

You may think you're a pretty good looking person, hell, you could be hally berry meets heidi klum meets Ryan gosling meets Brad Pitt blah blah blah. Have someone stand a couple feet away from you with an iPhone, scratch that, and iPhone 6s Plus, take a photo of your face with the flash on, and go ahead and compare that to every time you've ever looked in the mirror in a bathroom, seen your reflection in a window, seen a photo of yourself sitting in a park on an overcast day or in the golden light before the sunsets. You won't be happy with the photo of yourself when the harsh flash is blasted in your face, and also killing the light everywhere else around you.

Anyway, here's a nice mix for you :) (all photos below are available natural light with an iPhone - not the 6s plus though)

They are the best photos of this watch I have seen on this site.

I find it incomprehensible how anyone can think such an awesome piece looks cheap.

It's a marmite watch, I like the look but I wouldn't have it as my daily as it's doesn't suit all my wardrobe. It's not as flexible as some other pieces in the Rolex catalogue.

I know someone with a SubC LV. It depends on the light, but sometimes with the wrong light, it does indeed look like a cheap. Thats why I bought the Black TT instead of the Blue TT watch. I know black isnt really a color, but it sure does look good in all sort of light.

I don't think it looks cheap at all and if it had the older (non Maxi) case I would hanker after one. I just hope with the next generation Submariners (and GMT's for that matter) Rolex will get the case right!

The dial is gorgeous especially when the sun hits it from certain angles, if anything makes it cheap looking, I think it's the bezel, not exactly a match for the dial, just my honest opinion!

Certainly cheap is not what comes to mind, however it is not for everyone. I would prefer a blue sub, that's a real stunner.

I really like the Hulk and will own one someday.

That being said, I was showing some of my favorite watches to a lady friend of mine and while she liked the 16613 Blue model, she didn't care for The Hulk at all, calling it a "Gavone Watch." Ostentatious and off putting. She loves Rolex but only panned another model with the "Gavone Watch" description: The Yachtmaster II.

She has good taste, but these things are always a matter of personal taste, anyway.

We're all lucky to own the brand. Although I'm not a big fan of the "custom" pieces; they are all beautiful in my opinion. The hulk is unique and if you happen to love the Boston Celtics, all the better. :)

What do you think?
I think you are going to get a fair amount of pushback on this one. I think some would agree that in direct sunlight it doesn't work for them (It is one of Rolex's more polarizing models; no pun intended) but to say that it looks like a $5 plastic watch is stretching it a bit, IMHO.
