It sure does, but the older version with the non threaded cap and gold ring on the nib end of the barrel. Good call.

All modern 144s were a slip on cap. It was the 50s celluloid 144s that had a threaded cap.

Much of the confusion comes from Montblanc marketing several models as Classique. There was an earlier slim version they called 80s Classic then the modern 144 was called Classique and when it was discontinued they called the 145 (that does have a threaded cap and no gold ring at the nib) became the Classique.

Most of the day I used my new Jinhao dragon. I believe it's a model NJ141. This is a 100gram pen with a #4 fine nib! That's how crazy these pens are I was having some problems running bookbinders red belly snake black through the pen. Not the only pen that clogs up with this ink. I switched over to a Jinhao 5000 that I just recieved. This pen looks much more expensive in person than it cost. It's amazing what can be done with photo etching these days! The detail is really awesome.

My Montblanc 144. Works like a charm!

Used a 1952 MB 342 celluloid that I bought about 8 months ago and never inked up. I did so over the weekend and found that it has a gold plated steel OM/OB nib that is simi-flex. Spent about 2 hours with it and it has the ability to lay down dramatic line variations without even without pressure flexing all that much. Just write naturally and without thinking and then you look back over what you have written and go "wow! The pen just knows how to write. Someone put some thought in these nibs that took time and talent and didn't just turn them out for numbers.

These little Montblancs are so surprising. At least in my experience. You can buy them restored for about $120 - $140 that are 90% or better and seem to become stars in a collection very quickly.

I'll play. I'm pretty new to the fountain pen game - I only have two pens at the moment. One pen (Pelikan M805 demonstrator) is now being tuned by a nibmeister.

So for now I'm using my MB. It's called a Meisterstück Solitaire Geometric Dimension LeGrand. Medium nib, perfect size for me (maybe between a 146 and 149), great weight, ink window in the section. Writes like a dream.

Got out the Montegrappa Emblema today in anticipation of my new Montegrappa incoming. I haven't use the Emblema in months. Cool pen but the body and cap need a little more polishing.

Very nice pen! You should use it more often. I have the later blue resin model in broad. That one has a steel nib but I love that pen
