BLNR hype may die down, but in all honesty why worry about the hype and it’s value? I love mine and couldn’t care any less if there was hype around it or not, nor could I care about what it’s value is on the grey market as I want to wear mine.

If a Coke besal is released, i’ll have to work extra hard to get one to sit alongside the BLNR!

I think the hype has died. Easy to get and no premium. Like all of these mass produced pieces, at some point everyone who has the money and is looking for one will have one. The market then corrects....

I couldn’t say that time is now though.

Still very hard to get in a lot of places. In Australia it’s 12-24 month wait. I’m on 3 lists

Market driven...in the US....died. Will eventually die in your area too. It's the law of supply and demand, it just isn't a limited piece.

Aren’t just about all stainless steel sport models hard to find in Australia though?

Yes and no. Besides Daytona and new SD. You are fine. Most don’t put them in the display case though. If you ask they are there.

Weird. I haven't been on this forum in a bit, so I'm shocked at the pricing. I think I paid $7500 USD + taxes for it a little over 2 years ago. In the end though, I wouldn't worry about what you paid for it if you truly love it and enjoy it. I don't plan on flipping any of my watches. Congratulations!

My thoughts exactly. Although i would love to pay 7.5k US. I purchased my one in may 2015 and paid equivalent which was full retail in Australia at 7.8k USD. Now to buy one its 9.2k USD. Slightly over retail but in a few months I will have the funds again to purchase it. Although if an Australian AD rang me up and said they had one now I would grab it straight away which is about 8.5k USD equivalent now

Watchfinder UK's lunatic price of £8500 may disagree for now at least lol

It is too expensive for a visitor to buy a hot watch from any US AD by MSRP with a non-refundable sales tax.

Not sure what you mean by that. Why would it be more expensive? If I plan on being in New York, Las Vegas and LA surely one will ship out of state. Avoid the sales tax and would still be cheaper than Australia.

If I bought a BLNR in one LA AD, I would have to pay 8950 x (1+9.25%) = 9780 USD. Since I am a visitor and I don't have the other out-of-state address, there is no way to avoid the sales tax by shipping out of state. That is why I mean "more expensive".

Wouldn’t you just put a hotel address you are going to send it to? That should avoid the tax or am I mistaken?

I am not sure if the AD would like to ship the watch for a foreign visitor to one out-of-state non-permanant address in order to evade the sales tax. Even they would, I still feel uncomfortable to let them ship my high-value watch to an unknown (untrustable) receiver.

Fair enough. I might just look to
Go down a trustee seller her. I would do it
But importing into Australia makes
It very expensive. Buying in the us allows to avoid our import tax and a few hundred over aud Ad prices.

Just show them your passport and ask if they would kindly give you a discount equivalent to the tax rate. The worst that can happen is that the salesperson gathers all the other employees together and then they all laugh and point at you.

There is a massive SS shortage in the UK (and we have had it quite for some time). The only watches that appear to be readily available are the Milgauss, Explorer and perhaps the Air King. Most people are waiting anywhere between 6 months and a few years for the BLNR, so the demand is extremely high here in the UK (this is evident by the fact these watch are now fetching £8,500 on the grey market). And even WHEN we have a price increase I do not see how this will automatically resolve the supply issue, this will take some time.

So in my view, don't worry about hype or no hype, if you like it and can get your hands on it, buy it. Simple. You won't do badly put it that way

2005 Rolex SD. Perfect shape. Slight signs of wear. Watch is a 10 when you consider its 12yrs old.
Original box & papers. Serviced 2yrs ago. I can buy the watch for $5600. What do you think?

Can someone PM me if they know of an AD in the US with BLNR stock? Been calling several in NYC to no avail.

What if Rolex discontinues it (and hopefully brings the SS Pepsi back)? I bet the BLNR will become collectible and prices will shoot up the roof!
I k ow it’s been around for only a couple of years but with Rolex, you NEVER know!

I paid US$9200 for mine, no tax in Guam AD last week. Did I overpay?

Doesn't really matter to me as I have no plans of parting with mine, but just curious.

The hype won't go away. It's an attractive piece that appeals to both enthusiasts and non-enthusiasts. Plus it's a sport watch, under 10K, and says Rolex on the dial.

Paid $7,800 OTD a year and half ago. Seemed like an Ok deal then, but now seeing where prices are today, it's hard to believe I was able to negotiate that deal in the first place.
