Just came across this thread.
Firstly, congratulations OP on a fantastic addition. Absolutely love this watch. Here is my dilemma, been having this on my list for long but never pulled the trigger because of the hefty price and because I always think it is available anytime so I better focus on hard to find pieces. Now an opportunity came up to build a relationship with a big dealer and get access to their "real" lists of their hot models (steel Daytona, Pepsi...etc) but their condition is to have a minimum spend history. Long story short, they offered me to buy the platona at only 10% discount and gain the "vip" tag in their books to seriously be considered for other steel hot models (not only rolex but also patek) 10% discount is on the lower side but discounts seem to be shrinking on pm models. Checking chrono 24 and Davidsw sites, I see a significant increase in the bnib platona prices as compared to end of 2017 beginning of 2018 so perhaps I am already late. My questions are: 1- is it worth to spend 10% extra (I assume I can get up to 20% discount if I went grey dealer route) to build the relationship with the dealer? 2- if yes, which dial I should go for? I love both dials very much and keep bouncing back and forth. The diamond dial is 10k more expensive, is it worth it? Thanks for the help. _______________________________________________ Instagram: @mydream_watches |

Platinum Daytona Reference 116506
Like Lee said-
Brown ringed subdials are only on the plain dial...the diamond dial has blue rings concentrically embossed around the subdials. Photo from DavidSW Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I want to love that watch so much but like all Daytonas it wears too small. If they come out with a 42mm tomorrow, I'll pay whatever I have to for it but alas.....

This one has the Arabic/hindi numerals. It is very rare and sells at a premium compared to the "normal" dial version which sells slightly below retail. This example may fetch 15-20k premium. I prefer the base dial though |
