That leaves a black-dial option, similar to the PM version. Add in a red line, and you really are in Sub/SD43 territory. That may be too similar for Rolex to stomach.

A couple mock-ups from the Interwebs...

This would be awesome, I'd much prefer the classic Oyster case with rounded sides to the squarish Submariner/GMT case. Of course, this already exists in gold but I doubt they will release it in stainless. Hope I am wrong...

I asked my AD about Basel and the new Rolex releases and he told me, very quietly, to leave before he calls the police.

- Better than 50% chance a new Submariner drops. Will be the 12661x, with 3235 movement. Following the pattern of the GMT this year, case refinements will be minimal, and virtually indiscernible from the 11661x series. Because of this, Rolex will put out new metal/color combos, and will not update existing models this year. If this holds true, then updates of existing models will begin in 2020. A red line on black dial will not happen until at least 2028.

- Hulk will be missing from the catalog price list, resuming a frenzy of speculation it has been discontinued, which will endure up until Basel '20, when it actually does get phased out.

- The existing 11671x GMTs will begin to be updated with the 3285. 33% chance BLNR is discontinued outright. 33% chance it will receive new movement and be reissued as the 126710 BLNR. 33% chance it isn't due for any change until a later Basel. 1% chance something else happens I didn't think of.

- Coke fanboys will continue to predict it will happen, only to be as bitterly disappointed as Star Wars fans in the '90s who had faith the Lucas prequels wouldn't suck.

- More DJ combos.

- Rolex will do something else to piss off PM owners.

- Yachtmaster, yadda yadda. (Rolex has no clear idea what that line should look like, so why should I?)

- No new Explorer II until 2021, which will be its 50th anniversary. All Photoshop mockups of a ceramic version between now and then will only serve as big clock-teases for the people dying to see it happen. (See Lucas-prequel simile above.)

- None of the above will be available at ADs before Basel '20, except for the DJs, which will be available at an AD near you beginning March 27, 2019.

- Some newbie will start another Basel '19 thread, claiming this one is tired, and all effort put in here will be buried and forgotten.

This. The Coke predictions are out of control. There's no way Rolex is going to cannibalize the demand for the Pepsi with introducing a Coke a year later.

I can’t see that happening either. It will happen at some point, but they have a few years before they go the coke route.

That’s the same reason I pray that it’s SS, and not WG, if they do it.

39MM DJ to sit at the same size as an Explorer and 1MM down from the DD. I’d buy a 39 SS DJ wih a jubilee bracelet now.

I love the Explorer with white dial mock-up that's been going around lately.

SS Submariner with navy dial, or even brown (feel like I'm alone there).

Often the promo videos are unrelated to Basel. Two years ago, they were doing all kinds GMT promos. That led to rampant Coke speculation by WISs everywhere, but nothing ended up happening with the model that year. Last year, when they actually did a GMT update, the teaser for it left us in the dark as to which model; all we could tell was there was going to be a Jubilee bracelet on some sports model. Given the explicitness of the Milguass in this video, I wouldn't be so sure it's a hint toward Basel. It could be, but it just as easily could be unrelated.

More sky dweller dials, probably with diamonds. The only model with fluted bezel that has not offered diamond dials

It is an actual vintage Milgauss, not vintage inspired. I guess it's possible that this could be a hint, but I highly doubt it.

Hint or not though, I wouldn't be surprised if they did something with the Milgauss this year. The GV I feel has had a pretty long production run (was it 2006 when it was first released?), so some kind of update may be in order.

I‘ll say they put the Sub center stage. Reason is that Tudor seems to have hinted towards a Sub on their end (Instagram) and both brands aligned their big offerings in 2018.

"Batman" getting the updated movement with Jubilee bracelet. Different colored GMT hand to distinguish from the older version.
