6.5 in wrist here. I had multiple 6 digit subs and gmts but ultimately ended up parting with them all since I felt self conscious wearing them because of their size. I wish I didn’t feel this way because they were otherwise perfect and I miss having them in my collection. On the bright side, a couple of years ago I bought my first Daytona in SS and even though it is 40 mm, it fits me perfectly. This has to do with the true dimensions being below 40 mm, and the much smaller lugs and caseback that allow me to get the right (tight) fit that I prefer. Last fall, I added an oysterflex Daytona and regrettably I am starting to feel that it is a bit too big with its larger case and bulkier bracelet. I’ve also had several 36 mm Datejusts and they all fit perfectly.

6.5”. For Rolex my cutoff is the SubC 41. But can’t wear a DJ 41 and the jury is out on 40 without bezel like the Milgauss.

I have a smaller wrist and I think the 41 mm aqua terra fits perfectly. Hoping to get my new submariner ND and day any day now I’m assuming (hoping) it will fit perfectly as well

6.75” wrist. Current collection varies from 35mm to 42 mm. Most are 40mm. I regularly rotate them.

I remember when 36mm was considered huge for any size wrist. I remember being fitted for a suit in Manhattan in the 80's. I had a white gold bark finish Day-Date on. The tailor asked if I was always going to wear such a huge watch as it affected the fitting. In point of fact, size is not subject to any rules. It is only what you think looks good on you. Unless it's a tea saucer on your wrist no one will notice or care.

This is a very good question.... And after many decades of wearing and enjoying different types of watches and brands I have realised one important thing... the important size to measure is the "LUG to LUG" size.

I have 6.5 in wrist (flat)... I can anything from 36mm Rolex DJ to my 45mm Panerai! The max Lug to Lug size for me is 54mm... However, I try to avoid going bigger than 51mm.

Hope this helps.

6.5 inch flat wrist. I think 40mm is the sweet spot. Im willing to try a 41mm DJ or 41mm RO. The 126710 BLNR and DD40 fit my wrist perfectly.

I have a 6.25 wrist and have no problem with the latest Speedmaster (42mm). Really depends on the lug-to-lug measurement and how the lugs are shaped, along with how the bracelet falls. I also have a 14060 and think it's perfect.

40 or under preferably. 41 Sub is pushing it. 36-39 are perfect.

6.75 wrist and my daily is JLC Reverso Classique which is small but very comfortable and my 41mm Sub , which is my upper limit and doesn't get as much wrist time but also wears comfortable .
