126711CHNR (Rootbeer) was my first choice, I actually sold my 116710BLNR (Batman) after owning it for less than a year to buy the rootbeer.

I have enjoyed wearing it for a little less than two years (along with a datejust 41) and ended up selling it just a couple of weeks ago as I felt it grew out of me. Now I am leaning towards buying an oysterflex model (either a daytona or a yacht master 40).

I considered buying a two tone daytona for a second (only because I cant get a steel one), I tried on my uncle’s (pictured above)but wasnt really convinced with the overall look of it.

Well, I've owned 5 Rolexes in my life, all TT. For me Rolex is TT and TT only.

Yes, this is the natural order of things.

The stuff they make forks from is last.

I like the look. Most likely, I won't ever own one.

The first TT I ever wanted was the Rootbeer which I picked up in July 2018. It's my all time favorite watch ever. About a year ago i traded my 114060 for a 116613LB and I thought it was great, but damn that thing sure did draw a lot of attention, so I traded back down for a 114060. I should have kept it instead of worrying about how flashy it was. A TT sub is once again my first choice again and I will have one again one day soon.

Two tone wasn’t my first choice but it is growing on me a lot. I think it really comes down to the dial

TT Bluesy was the first rolex I fell in love with, but I was too young and didn't pull the trigger.

I think that’s one of the most beautiful Rolexes when you see it in person!

I am not a TT lover, but certain models are aesthetically improved as TT pieces. Bluesy and rootbeer are spectacular watches that I would proudly own. (Although I may go CHRN in that battle just because, wow what a watch.)

TT is valuable not only as a point of access for certain models of Rolex but also as a way of bridging the gap of appropriate settings to wear a watch, particularly in the professional models. Like many others, I own a TT white face Daytona because I knew there was no way I would ever get a shot at a SS. Now that I own it, I love it, mostly because it bridges the gap between tough SS piece and dressing up to full PM. I can wear it in a bunch of different settings where I would not wear a SS Daytona and a bunch of settings where I would not wear a PM Daytona.

It is worth wondering whether oyster flex occupies a space that TT once did in terms of allowing a watch with PM to dress down.

Interesting perspective on oysterflex. I think you’re on to something.

Now add to the concept that many of the “bridge the gap watch” prospective buyers are now willing to shell out +$10k more (where they used to buy a tt piece, and now they are getting a full gold of) to your brand for the same purpose.

You’ve successfully just moved your brand up market.

(Of course many people these days are willing to shell out $10k more for all sorts of watches from the brand, so I guess the point is moot.)

I have never liked gold so all my Watches have been SS and i didnt consider anything else. However.... the TT watches are really growing on me, especially that rootbeer GMT, its just beautiful. I think that might be next on my list.

Variety is the spice of life!!

This version of TT Daytona, CHNR and Champaign dial TT SkyD are only TT watches I would consider.

No.
But when it was presented to me ( most likely to stop me from emailing, phoning and visiting them ) I liked it immediately, that I bought it.

It is gorgeous in any lighting conditions.
Reliable 3135 movement, robust a bit flash and cannot make up its mind if it wants to be a gold or stainless steel.

I was not disappointed.

It's like a long lost friend/girlfriend you just want to be with for a long time.

And then you still lust for another

It's all about health, happiness & family. The rest are just necessary inconveniences we have to deal with.

I think what some miss is the beautiful contrast you can only get from gold on SS. This is why back in the 80s, a TT YG and SS GMT Master was a very popular watch. The Bluesy TT was on just about every Rolex outdoor billboard in the world in the 80s and became insanely popular. When I bought mine last summer, my then 42 year old son told me it looked like an 80s watch lol...

Spot on Gary. The contrast you get from TT watches is incredible. I definitely prefer TT above a full PM piece for that exact reason.

Just to put into perspective for anyone who thinks people buy two tone because they couldn’t afford full gold - here’s my previous purchase and this weeks purchase :)
