Have not yet received a booster and likely won’t, until and unless restaurants in NYC and/or my workplace require it.

This is interesting Matt, do you believe (and I have no medical knowledge so can’t say yes or no) that those heart rate irregularities are a result of the vaccine? Isn’t it more likely that IF you have any heart issues at all (and I sincerely hope and pray there is nothing wrong) that it could have been brought about by the virus itself? I really can not offer an informed decision, but as a laymen it would seem the virus itself would be more likely to cause issues then a vaccine. (?)

I have heart issues whenever I start running too… My heart says: “Hey! What the FU*& are you doing!?!?!?!?”

You don’t feel you need it, but would take it to obtain “privileges?”

There’s a lot of people in this boat. Coercion is effective. Most I know who are younger and healthy or have already had Covid fall in this boat. No research on the risk/reward but simply a poke in the arm to keep travel/eating/etc.

Most companies force you to mask if not vaxxed. Since it can spread from both groups is this good science to present spread or punitive/coercion? Now consider the complete exclusion of natural immunity from the conversation…

Children are often required to get certain vaccines to attend school.

Have you been worked up for your heart symptoms by your PCP or cardiologist? You're getting to the age where atrial fibrillation and other nasties can turn up. Ask me how I know.... At a minimum you can grab one of those nasty Apple watches with a heart rate monitor, great for catching potential paroxysmal A-fib. There's also a product called Kardia that I used for a few years while sorting out my rhythm whenever I felt symptomatic, works with a phone app.

First, to both of you Matts, I wish you nothing but the best of health and hope your hearts are running perfect for another 50 years.

Second, I am a certified Hypochondriac, and since we have been discussing this I am experiencing chest pains. There is nothing to be alarmed about, if we were discussing childbirth I would be experiencing contraction pains of my uterus.

She said "Dave, I am not allowed to do that, what I will say is this, if you have surgery and it doesn't work, you can get Radiology afterwards, if you get Radiology and it doesn't work, you cant get surgery afterwards." I got surgery and needed radiology a year later.

This was 15 years ago and I know the procedures have come along in leaps and bounds. What did amaze me was I had a problem with my PSA results the other week, that nurse, from 15 years ago rang me to discuss it. Thats just amazing, she is fabulous. As are all of the medical profession.
that's a great story, thx for sharing it

I am aware. Can anyone shed light on how long those certain vaccines existed and tested before becoming mandatory? I’ve not yet looked into it. And to be clear, education was not the type of privilege I was referring to.

smallpox vax was initially discovered in 1796 in UK, Supreme court (Jacobson v. Massachusetts) decision to support vax mandates was 1905 and I believe smallpox was one of them. of course things moved MUUUUUUUUUUUCH more slowly then . . .

Might be a bit more difficult to determine on some of them as this isn't federal but state regulated.

The other interesting question might be whether any of the vaccines that have been invented previously if they were ever found to be more harmful than helpful after being approved for use and I can't think of any.

https://www.smithsonianmag.com/smart...sco-180961994/

Seems kind of familiar but on a much smaller scale. I think the risk that got that cancelled while “low” will be found significantly lower than what is happening now (hopefully also still low).

I hate to be cynical, but I highly doubt that IF an authority were to mandate something harmful to its citizens, that it would be looking very hard to find it officially harmful. So, no, I can’t think of any either.

Yes. I don’t think it’s medically necessary for me and neither did the doctor I consulted. I’m a 30 year old healthy man. I had severe Covid in spring 2020, but I vaped heavily then and now I don’t. The 2nd Moderna shot gave me a 102.9 fever that made me shiver so much my abs were sore for days — simply didn’t feel right, and I bet I’m highly immune to Covid right now. That said, this isn’t a hill I’m going to die on so if I’m coerced I’ll get it.

Yeah, but as far as I know out all of them that were created and have been authorized, we still use them. So even if they as you say wouldn't admit it, I would have to believe by now after decades of use it would have come out by now.

I linked the swine flu vaccine mess above. They essentially recalled it for similar concerns as now, but with possibly lower incidence.

The VAERS system has more reports and deaths this year than all prior combined.

First of all, I want to thank you for your civility and receptiveness toward this contrary viewpoint. Your attitude is more rare than you may think. I’m now going to ask, are you familiar with Thimerosal?

2273 new infections in SA yesterday .Its not running .We expected at least 5000 new cases by now .
Also, not many hospital admissions in my area now.Very few .
At this stage doesnt looks like a more malignant strain of the virus .Time will tell .Next week to two weeks .

Correction : Just saw new stats 4373 new cases yesterday ...it is running a bit.

From what people are saying above, VAERS are inundated with deaths from the vaccines, thats not what is says in the article below in bold and italics or from the CDC or FDA.

It seems that Rose and Crawfords paper, (which was not an "in depth" study) that some are using for their arguments of 150,000 deaths from vaccines in the USA has been discredited as an error in calculation.

Of more than 390 million doses of COVID-19 shots administered in the U.S. up to Sept. 27, VAERS received 8,164 reports of death (0.0021%) among people who were vaccinated. Healthcare providers are required to report any death after vaccination to VAERS even if there is no indication it was caused by the vaccine, and reported incidents are not evidence of a causal link, according to CDC guidance. It says reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare .

https://www.reuters.com/article/fact...-idUSL1N2R00KP

And below from the CDC;

https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...se-events.html

The quote below is copied and pasted directly from the CDC page (linked above) which shows the numbers up to Nov 29th.

Reports of death after COVID-19 vaccination are rare. More than 459 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines were administered in the United States from December 14, 2020, through November 29, 2021. During this time, VAERS received 10,128 reports of death (0.0022%) among people who received a COVID-19 vaccine. FDA requires healthcare providers to report any death after COVID-19 vaccination to VAERS, even if it’s unclear whether the vaccine was the cause. Reports of adverse events to VAERS following vaccination, including deaths, do not necessarily mean that a vaccine caused a health problem.

The wording is very much the same, it seems that the news agency I linked in the first article used the CDC's wording in verbatim.

Turned a corner quick last night.

About 8:00 pm. Feel super right now. Slept super last night. Woke up great today.

Very glad I got the vaccine. Just that added protection, similar to an insurance policy.

Anecdotally, a buddy of mine is suffering from Covid right now. Never got the vaccine. Stated he wished that he did. Stated just yesterday that he understand now why people would potentially perish from it, and that he now understands why people would mitigate the risks with a vaccine.

I have another buddies dad on a ventilator right now. Super right wing guy. Very against the vaccine.

Only each individual can decide. As with most debates, there is validity in both sides. But as is also said here, I personally see the risk of the vaccine as less than the disease. And I’ve never was overly concerned with it. But the sickness I felt for 24 hours….if I can reasonably try and mitigate that…I’m all for it.

Just sharing experience, not getting political. Although politically, I feel “my body my choice,” let citizens decide what’s best for our own bodies. A personal choice, especially since everybody is different so how can we have a one size fits all scenario? Especially when it seems that the vaccines don’t “stop the spread” but are now really just “extra protection”. Not being political, but I am an American who believes in personal freedom. Anyway, wanted to share my experience and why I won’t be getting a booster.
Interesting, I received the J&J too and have had on and off colds, basically, since... I keep blaming the kids going to daycare/school.

Good to hear.

Still trying to determine what that might be. That is with all you said about your friends why people might not feel it is in their best interest not to get vaccinated.

Unfortunately, I got chickenpox because the vaccination wasn't invented yet. The good thing was that I was only 3 and I can only vaguely remember getting it. I'm sure glad and feel extremely fortunate they invented the Polio vaccine and I was able to receive that.

Sure wish they had a cancer vaccine as I would take that as well.

First off, I'm sorry to hear about your friend and your other friend's dad.

Hopefully this is not "political" since I'm trying to take politics out of it, but it's hard not to say names/left/right...

I'm still trying to figure out when "right wing" became "anti-vaccine" in so many people's eyes. I follow IG accounts on both sides and the majority of the right wing side accounts claim they want - Pro-Choice

Your buddie's dad is probably a Trump/Desantis fan - they're both vaccinated. I mean, DT's admin is the one that did project warp speed.

From the NY Times:
“Everyone should go get your shot,” Mr. Trump said during the speech. When The Times asked an adviser to the former president whether he had received his, the answer was that he had, in private, a month earlier.

Probably comes back to the way the media reports things, as previously mentioned. It's too bad
