I got mine at about 16. Traded my father a quartz gold plated Seiko for his GMT Master.

I got my first Rolex at the age of 40. Took me more than 10 years to pull the trigger due to the sticker shock. After that I became somewhat immune .

I got my first this year at 35; wanted a JC since it came out in 14 and finally was in a financial/life position to get it! Now thanks to this merry band of enablers here at TRF I have also bought a Speedmaster moonphase and am waiting for a BLNR on jubilee as well! I love this forum even if my bank account doesn’t

22. Recently graduated and started working so I wanted to celebrate both achievements. I had around 38k saved up from scholarships (I worked hard and got tons of scholarships and was able to pocket a lot of them). I walked into an AD about a week ago just wanting to look at display models and after talking with the SA she said that she had a 126300 with a sunburst blue dial in the back that I could look at. After putting it on I fell in love and purchased it. I work in heavy manufacturing so I can only wear it after work and on the weekends but I can’t help but smile every time I put it on.

40. The same watch I saw my dad buying in the 90s and that he wore every day until he gave it to me, shortly before leaving this world. The only watch I will never sell.

My first Rolex was a "vintage" GMT Pepsi, production year for when I graduated high school. However, I didn't get until I was 46 - and it was a birthday gift. I switch from a bracelet to a leather band, depending on season and my mood...It is utterly fabulous (and also responsible for starting a seriously addictive hobby, lol!!).
