Agreed. We’ve all seen the bark 1807/8s, 18078s, and 18248s- all in YG, but I’ve never seen one in WG. It looks great (and this one’s in good condition to boot); and I’m a YG and platinum guy!

Bark is beautiful, a ray of light and the bark is sparkling. WG bark is more exclusive for sure, but YG bark is fascinating too. A finish not seen very often in the wild nowadays. Exciting for connoisseurs...

The 5 digit DD 36 are the best value in DD.

Single or Double Quickset.

36mm is classic and super wearable.

Brushed lugs.

I haven’t seen the combo of WG/lapis, it’s cool. I remember being young and seeing a new 18238/lápiz (tail end of their production) at an AD while visiting Honolulu. That combo was really spectacular, a plebeian version of it might be a Bluesy. There’s just something about the combo of that hue of blue and YG!

I want to add a Day Date, if I had unlimited funds I’d get a DD 40 or a DDII but I don’t, that limits me to the 18238, I found 2, both champagne stick dial and a Roman champagne. I always wanted the stick dial but for some reason the Roman is calling me more now. I have a DSSD, a white dial milgauss and a gmtiic so I prefer the 40-43mm size, most of the time tho I wear a 40mm, but i have had a 36mm DD on about 7 years ago and I think the weight made it wear bigger than 36mm

If you have wrist shots of both or any thoughts please post.

Here’s a 118238 on my slightly under 7.25” wrist. The white stick is IMHO the crispest looking dial with the perfect contrast-it sets the piece off better than champagne.

Funny thing about my wearing the Pres. I had put her back on the shelf last year in favor of some time with a Daytona and GMT but lately I’ve been losing track of what day of the week it is. I swear that over the course of this last year every day feels the same. So for the sake of knowing if it is Monday or Tuesday....... I reunited with the President and fell in love all over again! Almost the same feeling as I had when I first bought it and slipped it on. Absence does in deed make the heart grow fonder!

Hi, John- welcome to the President Club! Looks like a clean 18238, and that white enamel/applied Romans could pass as being from the mid- to late 90s. Looks like a clean example of a killer watch. I have a few 3155s, and they’re pretty bulletproof. Enjoy it!

I bought a 1972 1803 today
It’s in superb condition with a repinned tight president bracelet with concealed clasp, bezel is super crisp too!
The dial is a dark grey, quite rare I believe.
I’ve got some great pics on my phone but how do I post them on here?
