They are already selling for really 60-70% above the list price.
Waiting lists run into years, even in some places being closed.

Of course that has already reached AP and PP!
The end of the year 2019 was the last moment to jump on the wagon ...

I don’t really agree with you about the year 2019. I bought my in beginning of this year at retail price.

Interesting development and the time will tell.

What I wanted to say for 2019 is that you could buy one without delay at this time.

I also received mine this year after 6 months of waiting, in the VC store.
What the seller told me is that the delay has now tripled at least.

The market is not lying anyway, the coast has gone up due to the complicated supply / demand.

No chance of having one, not because you're not famous or something.
Because they all sold in one day!

You may find some on the second-hand market later.

The were all allocated prior to release.

Cory Richards version - Another marketing ploy. Mere mortals will not be able to get it. But will have spillover effects on marketability of the normal Dual time and Chrono models presumably

Can’t say I blame VC for targeting their best customers but then it sucks for the rest of the VC population because it is a stellar model. A bit of a moot point for me because at 30 something grand without a bracelet it is let’s just say expensive and i can’t play in that price range anyway. I am no VC big dog , I have 1 , purchased at an AD (took a while to get ) but very pleased w the end result . There was no fanfare no extra gizmos just the watch in a box via FedEx so maybe one day if they decide to release the same model maybe in SS for less than 30 sign me up

I’ve flirted with VC for a couple years and got very close to putting down a deposit for the blue Overseas QP openworked but then my AP openworked came in. I love what they’ve done with the line but I could never shake the fact that it was owned my Richemont who I just couldn’t trust to not destroy long term value for collectors.

My window for VC has since sailed since it’s really taken off in the past couple months but I really hope Richemont doesn’t eff it up for collectors by getting greedy

Honestly, I don't think VC has really taken off.

Everything has taken off because no one can get PP or AP these days. That part has gotten worse in the past 12-18 months, and so all the alternatives are getting the attention now.

It's no different from BTC and ETH taking off, and now all the random Altcoins are getting attention.

(I'm not saying VC doesn't deserve the attention.)

I 100% agree, it should be VC Overseas. Most of their other stuff is still readily available, similar to Patek dress.

A rising tide lifts all boats and people are looking at other sports pieces from HH manufacturers

(And not trying to say any brand is better than the other)

Even if it's for this supposed reason that it took off, well it's not likely to land.
When will a PP and AP be readily available or mass produced? Never is the answer !

Take for granted that the Overseas have entered the dance. I'm sure, but I understand the skeptics. I just hope that they will not regret it in the future because for the moment the delay is still acceptable...

I forget the numbers, but someone did some math earlier in this thread: the annual production of Vacheron divided by the number of models (keeping in mind some complications and metals are very low production) and the simple fact is that annual production of the various Overseas refs can't be much more than a couple hundred per year per dial color. That is absolutely nothing when you consider global demand. Once prices trade above retail (which they have) combined with the viscous cycle of the increased demand that follows, it will continue to feed further on itself pushing prices higher and higher. I don't think there is anything stopping it unless the whole world literally falls apart. VC can't and won't just rapidly increase supply.

It's your fantasy, you'll be thrown a PP with a discount in your face, but you'll have to wake up awhile ago.

The market is what it is, no one is going to turn the wheel the other way around.

VC and the other trinity watches are not industrial products made by almost 1 million pieces annually.
If this has never happened for Rolex, and will not happen any time soon, it further negates this possibility for small productions with high demand...

Market could crash but it would take an enormous global recession plus World War 3 or something drastic like that I believe. Even a recession alone isn't enough, as many wealthy collectors would be insulated.

Anybody can buy one, they will be readily available, as long as you are willing to pay premium for it.

looks like VC finally catch up to the game that others are playing.

No.

It was only popular for two reasons: 1) It looked pretty good, 2) it was limited to 150 so it attracted people who use watches as "investments" instead of the stock market.

The least complicated watch usually will be the most popular.

Agreed it won't them more popular.

Though I think it is just your point 1)

The fact is those that know VC, knew about this for years. They had a lists of people from 1st gen OS owners through to there other ranges.

It was a well known secret that it was going to be released.

So they'd of sold 150 if it was not limited & just to collectors.

When I spoke to a boutique about a week ago, they said the 4500V with the blue dial is a 3 year wait list right now.

.

Re your point 2: This is plainly wrong. The LE release did not attract investors. These pieces were offered to VC devotees, those who have shown an interest in the brand and have a purchase history. These buyers were offered pieces that most were unaware of until the day or two before the release.

These people are not investors. They are VC enthusiasts, and it is likely that many of their pieces have depreciated in value over time.
