Congratulations!

I walked into the boutique wanting a blue 4500V and walked out with the same piece as yourself :)

Blue is overdone and overrated these days, in my opinion.

I much prefer the white/silver dial or the black dial.

Well done. Enjoy in good health!

Love it. The VC on rubber is just killer in every variation. This watch deserves more praise!

Overdone and overrated if you can't get it. Kind of how I feel about Patek Philippe since I get one.

Black is great but yeah. We can’t deny that blue is better

Second hand value aside, I would go for black Chrono over Blue and that's just what I did.. Both are beautiful but the blue on blue doesn't create a nice contrast. With blue sub dials it just breaks up the lovely blue dial without adding anything from the sub dials. Also the date window suffers a bit not having a blue background, all in all it's not the right combo for me. The black chrono with the silver sub dial contrast just is a lovely combo and the white date window fits in better with the colors of the sub dials. For the other references I think the blue dial is a clear winner.

Gonna be honest but wasn’t a fan of the blue almost looked purple to me when I checked it out and not as versatile as black . Was a moot point when I finally bought my VC since the blue was long gone but in general not a fan of blue watches . Doesn’t make me right or wrong but simply a personal choice .

I found the blue too mirrored for my tastes too and stupidly moved it on before the prices rocketed. As a general point, it always intrigues me that watch brands seek to emulate the success of nautilus and Royal Oak with blue dial sport watches but both of those are semi matt and everyone else goes for shiny

Is it emulating when other brands have had blue dials for years?

The current blue dial trend is overblown, it's like when people put on a submariner for a blakc tie event.

It's not universal and does not work for every event, ofc that's my opinion.

For the Gen 3

3 hander - Blue
DT - Titanium
Chrono - Black

Tend to agree. I don’t mean emulating the watches so much as the success. Just seems to me that the most successful blue dial watches are more muted but others don’t seem to follow that trait. It’s fine and variety is good, I just find it interesting.

Blue is en Vogue and market doesn’t lie. Nothing against the blue enamel, but i much prefer the blue hue on 5711 and 15202. Just matter of personal preference

Gentlemen,

I have become interested in the reference 4500V/110R-B705, which is the plain Overseas, date complication, in pink gold with blue dial.

I am a long time Rolex collector, but I would like to expand my horological horizons.

Is this a reference that one can purchase at a VC boutique, or is this similar to the late unpleasantness associated with Rolex collecting? I would have to travel to a boutique, so it would be nice not to waste my time, and only visit if I wouldn't be laughed at.

Thank you for your help.

- Brian

The train could have done, I just wasn't sure. I know these times are different. Sometimes full gold references aren't as in demand. Just don't want to waste my time making the trip, that's all.

Your best bet is to inquire through their website or phone call. Tell them you are far away. They have a separate allocation for remote people and can tell you how long the wait is.

At least in the US, there's a wait for this particular reference. I don't believe VC is currently taking deposits on it, but will take your info if the list happens to open back up.

I've expressed interest a couple months back but haven't received a call yet on whether I'd be interested in placing a deposit to purchase.

Thank you for the information. That's what I was afraid of, given the current market.

I'll give it a shot and see what happens. You never know.

On the 4500V/110R-B705, my closest AD told me that they have a three-year waiting list (three names on the list) and it didn't really seem like an option to join it.

They did tell me that there wasn't a list for the 4300V/120R-B509 and I was able to put a deposit down. I should receive within 6-12 months.

I actually have many of these blue dials, including the Pateks.

Still feel that blue is overdone and overrated now that everyone has jumped on that bandwagon in the past 2-4 years. Patek was doing blue long before it was "cool." As was Rolex.

(Remember when no one cared about the Yellow Gold Smurf Sub? Not even the Bluesy, but the Smurf Yellow Gold -- an extreme rarity. Used to trade for well below retail.)
