My Rolex Moment...

Our 10th wedding anniversary plans changed. Instead of a romantic getaway for two, we were faced with the loss of a babysitter for the weekend. "Party of four" was the new mantra as we brought the kids along. A bed and breakfast in the hills of Pennsylvania suddenly turned into a weekend at Hershey Park.

While waiting in line for Storm Runner, a popular rollercoaster, my wife turned around and said, "Thank you for a wonderful 10 years." and presented me with my Pepsi GMT Master II. I absolutely love it. I didn't mind the 30-minute wait for the ride as I had time to stare and admire this work of art. Unfortunately, I needed a few links removed so I had to keep it in my pocket! until the ride was over.

I removed the links later that night in our hotel room.

My moment.

Sweet pen! I am a proud owner of a SS Sub date. I will be getting a TT Sub date very soon. My moment happened several years ago when I would wear my watch to bed(you know, to keep it from stopping) when I didn't realize, my wife was wearing her diamond wedding ring. well the next morning, my watch had a very visable scratch on the crystal! Moral of story is...I dont wear my watch to bed anymore!

This will be getting drawn soon........

I've just had a full-on weekend fixing the database/file system and I am confident we will not be getting the Gateway errors anymore.....but the forum is always growing and so we can only say it is a work in progress....

I've probably missed this draw, but I'll post my moment anyway.

I was at a friend's house for dinner with my wife and I was wearing my Sub Date. We were talking and having a nice time, you know good food and company etc... when he suddenly looked at me with a look of disbelief and said 'You didn't' and pointed to my wrist. He then asked me if it was real, I answered, what do you think? His next remarks were what made this moment significant to me, he replied 'No', and then began to lecture me on how a Rolex was no better than a Timex, that the Timex was in fact far superior and that they were just overpriced pieces of junk. I just continued eating and let him get it out of his system. Once he had finished his rant, I turned to him and said, 'Actually it is real'. The look on his face was priceless. This was when I realized that some people will get it and others won't and if they don't get, it's not the end of the world either.

Just pledged.

My memorable Rolex moment was getting my first Rolex (GMT IIC) when I reached Medicare age one year ago. I couldn't decide between the GMT and the Sub Date 16610, and the desire for the Sub wouldn't abate even though I had the GMT, so I picked up the Sub 6 months later. Couldn't be happier with both.

My Greatest "ROLEX" moment was when I got a fax from switzerland in 2002 that my name had reached the top of the waiting list for a s/s daytona.

After waiting 4 years I had one, the only problem was going there to get it, from Australia!

I still have it, and will cherish it until I'm dust.

Thanks Greg and Steve.

My most significant Rolex moment was getting my GMT IIC last year for my "Medicare" birthday. Selecting only one watch was difficult, as I had a tough choice between the GMT and the older model Sub Date. Needless to say, I wound up getting the Sub Date 16610 as well during this same year.
