Sorry in my opinion these are all the wrong reasons.

A watch won't do that. And flashing it like crazy wont do it either.

The woman at the club who knows her style will think "wow that guy with he igucci watch just maxed out his credit card"

buy pre owned , and buy both , black sub , or een a bluesey ,,, and an omega with a different colour scheme , white face and steel bezel maybe .

He sounds like a fairly young guy... For flash he should've gotten a yellow gold president. Take it from rappers... Nothing says "hey look at me, I'm rich!" more than a young dude with a yellow gold DD. Unless he was willing to go AP ROO....

Well. I have both a Seamaster PO and a Rolex Submariner. The Seamaster was my first watch. I love the Omega brand. Needless to say, I still wear them both. I wear my PO as more of an everyday watch. People have come to my table before in the food court to talk about it. I keep my Sub reserved for suits and other special occasions. I am a little OCD. I hate scratches on my watches. BUT, if I was going to have only one watch and had the money for the sub, I would get the sub. It will retain a higher value, and it more noticeable.

I owned a Seamaster 2254.50 for 4 years. It was a great watch. I recently came into some "found" money and decided that it was now or never for a Rolex. I bought the 116710 and frankly, I'm a little torn. I love the beauty and quality of the Rolex. I also love the "name". However, I'm 56 years old and the watch is fairly small, especially considering how crowded the face is. Its not a quick glance and get the time watch. Also, the lume is absolutely terrible. The worst I've ever experienced on any watch, much less on a top tier. I love the watch and will keep it due to the circumstances under which it was bought, but I probably would have gone with one of the high end PO Omegas if I had it to do over again.

After reading all the posts I had to re-edit. Glad you made a decision and selected the Omega. I had one, got rid of it for a Sub C, then came a Sub SS. Now I never wear my C because I can go NATO and I have a different watch everyday, also for me, this is the perfect watch. Moreover, no one knows what kind of watch I have on, and for me it is a plus. I too grew up in the ghettos of NYC, fought hard to do right (gangs, drugs, shootings; typical silly behavior of those who refuse to educate and see the bigger picture). Now sitting at 34, after being around the world and combat on my personal choice to serve my country (Iraq & Afghanistan,) I view class, wealth, and life entirely different. Personally I could care less what I or my fellow man has on, because in death you can't take any of it. Moreover, life keeps ticking when your gone. I remember standing at a "fallen Soldier Ceremony, shedding tears for something i still dont understand, and likely never will. Hundreds of people joing together to express grief and sorry for a lost one, connecting, shedding all egos, biases, personalities, to look at one another and see it click that life is worth so much more. HOWEVER, if what you have on makes you happy, then shoot for the moon and if you make it, you'll have on the moons official watch (although many astro's were known, and photographed wearing Rolex GMTs ). Enjoy your purchase, keep striving for success and realize that one day, the chase isn't all that its cracked up to be. I say this because one day, after a cruise in Hawaii, a pretty woman asked me what type of car I drove? My immediate response was "How many degrees do you have?" She immediately froze and couldn't answer. At that moment I realized that material will get you only so far. The doors that have been opened to me, that allowed me to progress mentally, financially, and spiritually had nothing to do with material wealth only with what was in my head, and valued by my heart. Wise men know who is the fool. In his song (the BEST ever), "Rat Race," Bob Marley said it the best "In the abundance of water the fool is thirsty."

Just buy a nice watch that you like and don't try to impart qualities to a material object that it just will never have.

Good taste can come in many shapes, sizes, and prices.

Those who would judge you by the stuff you own are not really the types of people who will have your best interest at heart.

I agree that nice stuff does help to present an image, but an image needs to be supported by substance and character.

A lot of people have already said as much and they really are doing you a favor.

Just pick a nice watch that pleases you. That's what's important.
