I like the smooth bezel as it makes the watch more modern and sportier for jeans or shorts. Fluted all date long if you wear suits or dress clothes with or without sport jackets. Silver or gold dials only. Any other color dial and you may as well get a pure sports watch. The Datejust is a dress watch with sporting pretentions, not the other way around. Much like a BMW 3 series is a sedan with sporting intentions and not a pure sports car. That's the purpose of an M3.
