Those that don't know about watches might think a green Rolex looks cheap or fake. It's certainly not a traditional Rolex look. We will have to see how it ages in 50 years.

On my side i am not saying it looks fake or cheap but dull, as the BLRO, I would have liked some more stand-out colors.
Of course working with ceramics is not easy and this is the best that can be produced in 2016. So be it, but it is not fitting my taste, but in the end, who cares ? 😂

Absolutly agree - in direct bright light I think the bezel is TOO bright green..but here..in this pic if it looked like this all the time it would be absolutely perfect

Not a watch I'd buy but I love how it looks on others' wrists. And it is anything but cheap looking.

Owned twice and sold twice. The dial is great, my issue is that the bezel is too green... bordering on.... but it looks every mm Rolex.

ALL of the ceramic bezel inserts seem to change color shades/hues in different lighting conditions. Not just the hulk. BLNR, Smurf, BLRO, all these bezel inserts change colors shades also. It is a product of the ceramic bezel.

Rolex and cheap do not belong in the same sentence.

Definitely not cheap looking...wasn't a fan just from pictures...but tried it on the other day at Fourtane's...it is stunning in person...crazy how different it looks when wearing it as opposed to in the case.

I remember the first time saw one when they issue the original anniversary edition: something very different from any other offering back then, thought was going to be limited but obviously was not as the color remained on the lineup until today. It does not look cheap at all, but not very versatile in terms of clothing combinations. Doubt would ever buy one.

How cheap looking. Taking mine to the nearest gas station to see if they will give me 5 bucks for it!

Although I'm not the biggest fan of green, my wife pointed this watch out to me when we were visiting a local AD for other jewelry. She started by saying, "now that doesn't look like all your other watches." I initially dismissed the idea but then gave the watch a closer look and in my opinion, the color looks much better in person than in many of the photos I've seen. I realize it isn't for everyone, but it was for me. I just added this to my GMT Master II and Submariner.
Oddly, a color I didn't think I'd want has become the attribute of the watch I like best! |
