Agreed. It's not like this is a fly-by-night seller. The guy has a strong track record. I'm not saying it shouldn't have been caught or over disclosed if he was aware of it. But let's not play judge, jury, and executioner here. Had this been from a seller with one prior post... Ok let's hang him. But that's not the case and should be taken into consideration.

This is still going on? If some are willing to attack a seller based on a single sour deal that was somewhat resolved I can't imagine what you would do to someone who is just getting started selling and makes a mistake.

So quick to cricify a seller! Can we move forward?

If it was me trying to "scam" someone I'd wash the writing off with isopropyl and rewrite it.

And don't you get the real info when you scan the card regardless of what is written on it?

Just pony up and buy it at the AD. Problems solved.

I agree. While I commend the seller for taking the watch back. There hasn't been a clear explanation with regards to the altered warranty card and the incorrect tag. Clearly, I have no dog "in the fight" but wondering if this has occurred to other buyers.

I think that our trusted seller has done what anyone reputable seller would do and what most of us would be thankful that he did do, and that was to refund his money.

Most of us worry about getting scammed out of our money. We are quite spoiled here. The OP got his money back and the seller, sohais paid the shipping.

I think the Rolex in question is still a fine watch and once the date issue gets resolved will be a fine watch for years to come.

I have waited to see where this thread would go, and I am hoping that we can all give our trusted seller some slack.

So many people can tell horror stories about getting scammed... This is not one of them

Personally I can't believe how many responses this post Got, I had a much more serious problem with the watch and when I mentioned it on the forum I got zero sympathy. Even though they sold me a watch with a completely ruined bracelet. Anyway in this case the issue was looked after leave the poor seller alone.

I'm still curious and I agree as well. If we continue to let things go just because it was returned, that becomes a fairly easy thing to do (if there was intent to pass something along without being fully transparent)...

Buying something without it in your hands

Buying something without it in your hands always pulls is the opportunity for the seller not to be 100% transparent. If you're going to buy something from someone online regardless if it's a trusted seller on the forum eBay or anybody else that sells watches online you're always taking a chance.

I bought from what I thought was a very reputable online retailer and watchuwant and frankly their top priority is selling watches, once they get it in your hands they know that 9 times out of 10 you will keep the watch. If you're worried about getting scammed buy the watch in person and this will fix the problem completing, in this case the OP was very lucky that the seller gave him a refund. In most cases refunds become an issue either because the seller will not provide it or in my case with Currensy exchange it's not feasible so guys and girls if you're going to buy a watch either here or anywhere else be smart see it in person and don't complain when you wind up in a dilemma with the seller

Nice forensics on the altered date in the card; also curious what ever happened to watch after it was returned by OP..........
