I hate pictures of rolexes with the "matching" bracelets. They just look silly, extra and unnecessary.

I hate everything I've ever posted on this forum, especially the pics of my watches. I always feel materialistic and petit.

I hate all the knick-names I have read on this forum. (having never heard any of them prior to joining!)
I find them childish, embarrassing and insulting (to the watch!) and had to put them to the back of my mind when placing my order for a Sub 116610LV |

Hi HL65. No, I ordered it in January and expect it any time now. Inerestingly I also had one on order from a nearby AD who called me a few weeks ago with a watch, but I declined because my local AD has intimated that purchasing from them will shorten my wait for a Daytona c

Sometimes I step back to before I really knew Rolex, and I used to think they all looked similar. There were basically 3 models:
Rotating bezel with insert (Sub, YM, SD, DSSD, GMTII) Fixed brushed bezels with writing (Daytona [520], EXII) and Fixed smooth/fluted bezels (DJ, DD, SkyD, EXI, OP, Milgauss, now the AK) Obviously my opinion has changed, but sometimes good to just step back and think... do I really need ANOTHER Rolex? |

The biggest turn off for me with Rolex is I don't like anything from Breitling

I have a visceral disdain for the ice blue dials on platinum watches. The color evokes an unpleasant physical sensation. Hate is a strong word, not to be used lightly. I hate this color.
Tudor snowflake hands give me a similar feeling. I love the watches, hate the hands. If I could get a Mercedes replacement hand set I'd be all over those watches. It would still look like plastic. |

Explorer 1 is boring in pictures but looks great in person. BLNR looks great in pictures but terrible in person.
I hate the Oysterflex. My Rubber B is better quality. Massively disappointed the 50th anniversary SD doesnt have some green. Also disliking the cyclops more and more. Why do the PM SkyDwellers look so different than DJ's but the SS SkyD's look almost exactly like them? AirKing is awful but glad they made it so the Milgauss doesn't have to be the most unpopular kid any longer. I hate that I like the YG DD with a diamond bezel. I don't understand why the PM subs have PCL's... should be brushed like the SS versions. GMT's should come with an option of fully brushed bracelet. What in the hell is the Pearlmaster supposed to be? Should be the ostentatious-master. I love the Explorer II. I hate the Explorer II. I think people choosing a SubLV over the LN are making a good decision. A no date LV would be nice. The Red on the WG GMT bezel is the wrong shade. The impossibility (for no reason or at least an unexplained reason) of getting the Daytona SS Ceramic undermines the desirability of the watch. The YMII was stupid. The 2017 updates made it worse. And I'm piling on about TT watches, not a good look. |

It increases jet lag by reminding you what time it is in your home time zone thereby slowing your acclamation to your new time zone.

Anything larger than 31 MM looks silly!!! Unless of course she weighs 500lbs+. Then some guy will post a pic of some famous model wearing a hockey puck dangling from her wrist. Hey dummy, it's not the watch that makes her look hot!!!! She cold have a garbage can lid strapped to her wrist and still be hot!!!

Never understood the point of the sea dweller unless of course you actually dive with your watch. Looks just like a submariner and the same dia without a date mag but costs thousands more? What's that all about? New SD43 makes far more sense to me!!

Precious metal professional models are about as obnoxious and pointless as gold rims on a Land Cruiser, and Subs look ridiculous in any color other than black.
That being said, I think my most unpopular opinion is simply that I still consider a Rolex a tool watch. |

Don't like the white gold sub with a blue bezel.
Think the 42mm explorer 2 is half breitling half Rolex and doesn't fit the brand YM1 is a skinny sub. YM2 is too blinged for my tastes. While generally I don't like nicknames like batman and bluesy I think it's fitting for the hulk. A nickname is fine if it fits but inventing one for the sake of it for ever new watch... |

1. I don't like/love PCLs. Too tough to keep pristine and too flashy. Even though I have a GMT MasterIIc with PCLs (of course).
2. My wife's Citizen keeps better time than any of my Rolexes (damn).

No kidding. They're the smart ones. When I bought my wife an Omega, she wanted the quartz version, because it was more accurate and she doesn't have to wind/reset it if she doesn't wear it for a few days. Outside of our bubble, it's kind of hard to argue those points.

My pet peeve is purists who insist that calling the 114060 the "ND Sub" is incorrect and offensive. "Everyone" should know that it's THE Sub and everything else is a derivation. But the use of the term ND is purely descriptive, not a cutesy nickname, and avoids ambiguity. Somebody says "I'm wearing my sub," are they one of the Illuminati using the term "correctly," or using the term generically? "I'm wearing my ND Sub" is clear.
Oh yeah, and then there's "Rollie." |
