Will the BLNR hype die down?

Hi guys,

Got my BLNR arriving tomorrow and i'm super happy, although i have paid well over £RRP from a reputable "Pre-Owned' dealer. 2017 model unworn with stickers intact.

Now my worry is with me paying £1000 over sticker price, what if the so called "hype" dies off for the BLNR? What if supply starts to meet demand in the near future? Will i regret paying so much?

Obviously at the moment any SS sports models are extremely hard to come by at AD's, but how long will it be like this? I guess nobody really knows...

For some of us the BLNR was never a choice. Congratulations!! Doubt I'd pay +1K on any watch. Regardless, it's your watch and congratulations on getting a grail!!!

See it's a shame when you read this stuff as I got a call from one of the 24 AD's I called like 9 months ago saying they have the BLNR and do I want it, it's at that moment you wish you could speed dial someone here to help them out but unfortunately the AD will literally hang up and call the next on the list. I'm sure it went that afternoon. I didn't get it as sold all my pieces now the 'one watch guy' with my Hulk and can't be happier.

The Hulk is the watch to have to start and end a collection with maximum impact. I could be there myself if I had to.

guys wait ..

in EU retail price of BLNR is about 8300,
my Country has the wort taxes in EU ,
and BLNR's retail here is 8500 (I paid yesterday 8500)

so , if you Boothy84 pay 1000 over , you'll get it as the same price as whole EU

are you sure there is 7340 the price ??
if does , now I understand why sellers and "grey playrs" from UK could give the best prices on CHRONO24

Is there Hype. Just seems like a nice watch that people like on their wrist. Watch has been around for awhile now. Not nearly like the Daytona.

As far as Grey Dealer prices go there is plenty of BLNR hype still but of course the DaytonaC is the King of Hype

Congratulations!! I have a BLNR and it’s an amazing watch.

I was in Edinburgh a few weeks ago and both ADs had no sports at all....not even the usual EXP2 and Milgauss etc.

Hamilton and inches were good to talk to and helpful, Laings seemed a bit more “fake” if that makes sense. The lady I spoke to spoke about steel sports pieces like they were unicorns.

Saying that, both ADs were swarming with tourists who were actively buying Watches.

I guess as the uk is the cheapest place in the world to buy a Rolex, that’s just how it is.

Congrats mate!!

BLNR is the most beauty combo SS from Rolex for a reasonable price, sporty all the way and dressy all the time. The only minus in my opinion is the easy scratched PLC, but at the same time is the heart of its beauty. To pay £1000 extra is not a big deal if the waiting time to get in your city is > 3 months

Well, what's done is done so I'd just enjoy the new watch. I've not been in an AD for a few months, but the BLNR has been relatively easy to locate for some time in the States. Great watch and congrats.

Any idea of the RRP in the US?

$8950 plus state tax (around 7% I think?)
So around £1100 more than UK list price......

THEN......you need to declare upon entering the UK and pay VAT....so you could end up with a £9k BLNR

So in a nutshell, don’t even think about it
Far better to pay a bit of a premium and buy in the UK

Yes, it’s $8950 US + state and local sales taxes. A few states have no sales tax, but most do and some are quite high (8 or 9 %). If you ship across state lines (buy in New York, for example, and have the watch shipped to California) there is no sales tax.

The duty / VAT question is, of course, another matter.

I paid retail a few weeks ago, $8,950. I did call around and there were several AD’s around the east coast that had them and were willing to ship out of state, but no discounts. If I waited long enough I could probably have sourced one with a discount but I’m thrilled to have it and start making memories immediately with it on my wrist.

I would have spent the £1000 on a weekend trip to a country where they aren’t so hard to get.
