Is it April 1 yet?

Not for Earth related sales, but for Swiss Rolex exports to Mars.....Mars production would be profitable.....

The BLNR blue (day) / black (night) bezel makes sense. Maybe they were in a depressed state and the brown represents the crappy part of the day and the black represents night. LOL

Brown & Everose gold is just perfect. Just look at the Yachtmaster TT with brown/chocolate dial or the everose gold DD40 with chocolate dial.

I beg to differ. Nothing wrong with a bit of brown.

As you can see brown is the second most common least favorite color after orange, but is also a lot less likely to be someone's favorite color than orange, therefore it is fair to say that brown is the overall least favorite color.
It's a meaningless idea. People's favorite color what?

If someone answers "blue," does this mean they would prefer blue chocolate, blue wood, blue leather, and blue people? Why not, if it's their "favorite" color? The whole idea of a favorite color is as specious as a favorite weight or a favorite distance.

I suppose a similar question could be asked about the bezel on the platinum Daytona, the brown does not match the beautiful ice blue dial at all.
I have to say I like it and even better with the Everose, i’ve always been a fan of the gold and green GMT but it’s a little to bold (even for a magpie like myself) and wished for an Everose GMTII for a few years! I would have preferred a chocolate sunburst dial (brown 😉) but waiting to see it on my wrist before making any judgment!

I heard from someone well connected (roomate to the cousin of the wife of an AD) who said without question the whole concept of the brown bezeled GMT was for one purpose, to cause arguments and piss off people the TRF. It seems to be working quite well as does everything Rolex puts their back into.

It'll probably sell moderately well, for a couple of years, but in 20-30 years it will be fetching a (used) premium as a 'collectors piece'.

I think it's 'quite nice', but that's it really.

Call it what you like but it's still brown. Chocolate is for candy and ice cream. That being said l think I'll have a bowl of brown ice cream later. Seriously though I really think it's a great bezel color combination especially on the full rose gold model..

It has it's place. It's a warm colour and easy on the eye. It would have gone well with the horrible 70s school uniform I had... except I went to school in the 90s and it was not cool. On second thoughts, yuk!

Nah, it's alright.

I personally find chocolate dials and accents to be very elegant and sophisticated. To each their own, but when it comes to Rolex 'brown' hues, that is what comes to mind.

It is a great looking watch. Personally wished they used a brown sunburst dial for it.

It's not BROWN it's CHOCOLATE.

Like that chocolate dial DD, or the chocolate dial DJ41, or the chocolate dial Daytona....
See the trend?

Brown can be beautiful. I worked as a feature film colorist for many years and many times we'd have deep, thoughtful and intellectual "round table discussions regarding color. The virtues of say "Wimbleton White" vs "Wedding Gown White". Or the The Emotional Impact of pairing Cyan and Gold vs Teal and Gold.

We take color very seriously. A 80 million dollar film demands it. The crazy Cinematographer expected it and the childish, short tempered first time director DEMANDED it. Plus, we're a little nuts too!

To me, the Rolex Brown in question looks okay paired with Rose gold in photos. But, how can I seriously form a decisive opinion from some lame digi-pic?

I need to see it in person under realistic lighting.(not hyped-quartz jewelry store lights) And, food for thought: Personally I've admired chocolate Brown Caddys, suede sofas, Tudor homes, pianos/ furniture, etc. that look elegant and classy that are brown. Depends on where it is - like any color.

That's all, and as always no offense. Don't let my useless opinion rile ya'.

Mark
