I always found the 37mm to be one of the best cases out there! I never was fully into the bezel design.

I think they are a fine watch, but get no real love from some because they are a sports watch with no real history or intent. They seem more cooked up in a boardroom by PR dept and aimed at wealthy people who like a long lunch. Just my very humble opinion.

The underrating on Yacht-Masters can never be overstated or justified, I love mine, and it beats my imagination why most Rolex fans refused to look deep enough to see the beauty of the beast.

Just scanning through this thread after starting one on the YM myself.

Great pics here!

2 questions jump out from reading responses;

1. It seem price point is a recurring reason for the relative lack of popularity vs the sub from looking at replies, but are we REALLY saying someone who can afford £8k for a sub can't afford £9.8k for a YM? Surely customers at this price point can stretch if desired?

2. Presumably the bezel can be replaced (at a cost) if it does get battered which seems to be a concern from people?

Cheers!

Blue dial Yachtmaster is gorgeous. Pops in the light. Underrated timepiece.

I'm going to be a bit coarse here and say most people are sort of dumb and tune out as soon as they hear Yacht as they do not have one. Remember there are people out there walking around that don't even know anything except they own a Rolex; as in no clue what model it is or vice versa. Plus most of the older models were either PM or TT.

It appears I dramatically underestimated the no. of privately-owned submarines

I wore mine at the weekend and whilst jewellery shopping with my wife and under brightly lit shops the bezel was just dancing with light.

Stunning piece! Don’t understand why the sub seems to be the de facto choice I reckon if James Bond was re-written in modern era he’d wear a Yachtmaster

I have to say it was a style that I had very little interest in UNTIL I tried on both the Rhodium and Blue dial variants... the case dimensions are amazing, it sits on my 7inch wrist amazingly well...

Hopefully I won't be "waiting" too much longer for one to arrive.
