I haven't said a word on this thread, but I'll say it now....

When I first saw MJ in the very early '80s, I thought he was the greatest thing that happened to Pop Music. As the years went by and some of his finest albums were released, the world loved, adored and went all ga ga over him.

However, his multiple stints with plastic surgery and some of his antics placed him in bad stead with the world and his popularity began a downhill slide.

His death was inevitable, but unexpected. 50 was too young to die.

May his soul rest in peace.

JJ

Ehh, no fireworks are in order. Unlike the other two rabid, drooling, idiotic fire-and-brimstone rants, Richard's post reflects reason and I don't have a problem with it.

As for lehmann, just as well he withdrew his post.

Now can a guy just go buy a house in peace? Is that too much to ask for? Sheesh.

I believe some ex-members would put that firmly in the "things I don't do" bucket.

Well Mr. Jackson is known for his rhythmic speeches.

I will obfuscate and agitate and not placate and ingratiate.

Interesting programming on tv last night.

Bunch of intellectual "wah wah" types discussiing MJ's death.

One point that kept coming up was the Micheal Jackson we all knew and loved, the performer, the artist, the singer, the dancer actually died following the release of the Dangerous album and the tour.

That would have been around 1992-93 I think. When you think his last biggest hit was Black and White in around 1991 that seems like a long, long time ago.

From there it was allegations, skin bleaching, skin diseases, court cases, repossessions, incredible debt, baby dangling, pain killers, face masks, TV documentarys etc. His music was no longer relevant when compared to his personal life.

Basically, Micheal Jackson as we knew him was gone and he was replaced by the Pop Culture Icon that died two nights ago.

So two Micheal Jacksons; the legend with his music and the pop culture "celebrity" with his troubles.

Even his detractors must mourn one of them surely...I know which one I miss.

It's a shame a new generation won't be able to see Michael (live).

I wonder what he was going to show for his new tour????????
