They all feel great, but you're right, that one's special. It felt really nice to walk into an AD and know I could, and would. It's so pretty and the design screams 'Rolex' enough that it gets a pretty fair amount of notice and compliments. I don't mind that, except when I'm someplace where I don't want attention called to it. Times like that I'd just say "It's fake", and move along, .
I got a laugh one time with it. I was in a mall jewelry store to get the bracelet on my Bulova watch adjusted. When the lady finished she brought it and a padded tray to me so I could try it on. I unlatched the Rolex and dropped it face-down in the tray and put the Bulova on. We were chatting the whole time. I was happy with the adjustment and started taking it off to put the Rolex back on. The saleslady picked up my Rolex without really looking at it to wipe it with a microfiber cloth she had. She looked down as she started to hand it to me and did a quick double-take. Guess he thought she was wiping a Seiko or something.

I believe that is a 16200, semi-vintage if you will. The current version is called 116200, which has a polished case + center-links; solid-end links (SEL); and an updated clasp for the bracelet. List price is $6,200 USD. For now.
Hope that helps. |

Thanks, Patrick. I think your're right, that's a 16200. The slim lugs and brush finished is what I want, it's quite difficult to get it in brand new now.

NOS is very tough, you can look for a really long time. Another option is to get the new one and have it brushed professionally, and enjoy the updates.

It is a 16200 originally sold in 1992, but not used since. I recently got it. It is truly unused! The dial is one of the reasons I bought it.
Here is another picture: I presented it just recently to this forum: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=196343 Best, A |

I have not seen a white dial with the exact same layout. There are white dials with the later roman "rail track" minutes for the 16200, but not the same simple version as I have. I know that there are older white dials with half minut markers for the DJ 1600. One of the TRF members (do not remember who) has one. If there is a white dial, like mine, I will get one! Best, A |

Here's one of mine
Here's the other Couldn`t decide between a steel or a bicolour.....so I ended up with both a 16234 AND a 16013. The 16013 has hardly ever been worn from new. Paul |
