OMG. This guy got a lot of attention! I guess his sarcastic comments sure got him a head start and a big attention on this forum. Moreover this forum has been very inviting and welcoming to him as well. Kudos to the forum

To be honest I thought he was a troll at first. Now I don't think so - he just posted very unwisely. I think his subsequent apology was genuine so all is fine by me. But he should not be surprised by the response he's got - he asked for it.

Don't buy the watch -- buy the seller. I only have two watches that I did not buy originally. One was because it was a gift. The other is 25 years old and the only one I have doubts about. No, not about its authenticity, but about it's condition and where it has been.

Icon10 Lol.

I'm just a regular dude who makes WAY less than you. I shouldn't even own a Rolex, much less, wear one. But I do, because I want to.

Rock on, dude.

The right reason to have a Rolex: You want one.

The wrong reason to have a Rolex: Buying what you do not need, with money you do not have, to impress people you don't like.

What an arrogant pompous horses pitoot. I bought my Sd for 510. it now goes for over 7k. buy a rolex wear it for free. Buy a Bmer and lose 20% for driving it off the lot, and after 5 years try giving the boat away. Frankly I by a rolex because the rest of the watches just dont make the grade. Its not to show off Jimmyglingo. ya got that wrong. While there is prestige to say yeah i wear a real rolex, most but them because they are tool watches that most other makes just cant stand up to the abuse.

If you were ever on a treasure hunt with me, you would see very quickly why only the toughest watch will do. Then again some just dont get it. Dont be a wally about the whole thing, you asked questions got answers. maybe not the answers you wanted , but answers none the less. Enjoy your boat, bike and Bmer, at some point in your life you may even enjoy owning a rolex, Unless you experience ownership its tough to complain. me I have the boat, had a 318i , forget the bike never liked em. As for the boat, its a money pit too much gas. The Bmer rotted out with all the salt on our roads.

Big investments with no return on them. Sucks

Wow this thread sure turned into a mess. Not surprised though, the "fixins" for it were in the OP. I thought him a...well I guess I shouldn't say.

Lets look at a quote or two from the original post:

i) "I do fairly well, $140k salery, BMW, boat, house, harley. (The big I AM)
ii) "The pictures posted here l don't look like you are rolling in money" (unlike Jimmyblingo)
iii) "Are you drug dealers" (How do you earn $140k jizzybongo?)
iv) "or posers buying rolexes to show off" (Unlike BMW drivers hey Jammybugger)

Now this one ladies and gentelmen is the peach of the bunch, we should errect a statue of Jimbobingo, he could well be the next Charles Dickins!

v) "I hate you all" (I'm filling up with emmotion as we speak)

And you wonder why some have taken a dislike to you! Frankly i can;t believe how restrained members have been. A big round of applause to the forum!

This thread is one of the best in ages.

Troll like comments.

Rolex fanatics getting their knickers in a twist.

Some real funny responses and a Walrus.

I nominate this for a TRF'ey on the grounds of best thread ever!

It's a good one Jimbits, but nothing compared to some of the flamers in the past. The OPs tantrum was a nice twist though.

As a student of human nature it's really interesting to see what prompts over a 230 posters to basically make the same points over and over though. Good for site traffic and ratings I guess, but very little else.

I guess we all now know that there is nothing positive to be gained by 1) saying how much you make, 2) what car you drive, or 3) what other toys you possess and then poke at the egos of Rolex owners.

Funny, I had an answer all written up for the OP, then I looked and saw the other 13 pages of responses.

I bet he has a Black Card ;-)

Justifying it is easy! A $10K+ watch now that will be easily worth $10K+ 10yrs down the road. The question is......how did you justify the beamer? Your $50K+ beamer will be worth next to nothing 10yrs from now. It probably depreciated about 1/2 the cost of a Daytona the second you drove it off the lot, if not more! But if you enjoy your car and it brings you happiness, as do the watches we wear, that is all that matters!
