Oscar, I'll have to give those dishes a try. I have had Lechon before, in fact we had a small pig cooked for us here in Hawaii a few years ago. While living in the Philippines I was in the US Air Force, stationed at Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Pampanga. While in the Philippines, I traveled all around the Manila area and the area in and around Subic Bay as well. When I evacuated from the Philippines in 1991 I took a US Navy ship to Cebu and I was there for a day before flying out to Guam. In addition, many years ago I traveled to Panay Island and stayed in Roxas City and Capiz for two weeks. However, I did not see any aswang! :) That trip was an adventure. I flew to Manila and took a passenger ship from Manila to Aclan on Panay Island. Then I traveled in a bangka boat around the island coast until we arrived in Capiz. I lived in the jungle in a "Bahay Kubo" for two weeks. It was great!

For watch content: The military retail store at Clark Air Base back in the 1980s used to sell Rolex watches and you could get a SS GMT Master for around $700 in those days. Sadly, I was not aware of the joy of Rolex watches at that time and did not buy one until many years later.

Taga saan ka sa Pilipinas?

Regards, Tim

hello jdh,

just curious, who's the authorize Rolex distributor in the Phil., Washington or Lucerne? I also noticed that Washington is always cheaper. But of course, it's much cheaper going to Hong Kong or Singapore and buying your Rolex even if you spend for plane ticket and hotel than buying it here in the Philippines. Just my observation

i know. if i was a member here two months ago when it was 1=1 in the dollars i could have bought 4. then again. everytime i look at the watches here i just want take one of my job offers in the US but i like Canada i feel really safe here. i can wear my watches here without hesitation and you can't put a price on safety.

Fyi, before Washington and Lucerne as ADs of rolex here or Chonos for that matter . . . . there was White Gold Inc., in Cebu

BTW, for info am in Manila and went to Greenbelt5 this morning, Lucerne sister companies opened a lot shops, for Patek, IWC, JLC, Chopard, Breitling, AP, and Omega, separate showrooms for all brands. Well good for Lucerne
One separate shop beside theirs, Washington's Rolex shop.

Surprisingly, yes, there is a pretty fair sized market in the Philippines. It may not seem like it sometimes. I was just at the BMW showroom near Eastwood... and they have all these newly imported 6 Series BMW's lined up... someone is buying all these things.
