According to two blogs, one of which originally reported it was discontinued, then amended the report. There is conflicting information, so it's tough to make a call on this. All we can do is evaluate the information that's out there. However, I personally think the Master Catalog and a revised showing on AD websites carries more weight than two bloggers.

Edit: unless you're aware of other sources. I've only seen it reported by ABTW and Fratello.

i never believe it until Rolex announce it.........

Anyone think maybe they were just working on the website updating it and moving stuff around?

Or better yet as we all know Rolex likes to be all mysterious and i think they love the rumours, one of the guys in the web design/IT department prob does it at random just to screw with us....... i know id do it for shits and giggles lol

You're right Sir. Mr Robert-Jan Broer of Fratellowatches spoke to the Rolex top execs at Baselworld 2018 and they have assured him that BLNR model will stay in production

Yes, we know. However, his information is at odds with the new catalog and the Rolex-ported listings on AD websites. How do we reconcile this?

Correct, Govberg site GMTs has no BLNR. I sent them an email will post their reply tomorrow. Also that AD in Beverly Hills doesn’t have it either.

I personally think the BLNR was a true statement of what a GMT watch should be; the blue and black indicating day and night reference. I find it hard for Rolex to reason with discontinuing a successful model, and being the very first bi-color ceramic bezel, the BLNR is in my opinion, something quite special. Maybe as what almost everyone else here has mentioned, a movement update might take place in the near future, and i think they might use the new case, as found in the SS Pepsi.

I agree, the blue for day, black for night is logical and looks great. The way the blue blends with the black depending on the light is really sweet... no other bi-color bezel has that quality.

BLNR is not discontinued, here is the proof: Rolex never showcases on the main display at Basel pieces that are or plan to be discontinued the same year.

in all seriousness who cares. The other forums are largely crap. I’ve tried them all. Low volume and sub par layout. No thanks!

Could it be as simple as they are moving through existing stock out to dealers and releasing an updated blnr with the new movement/ revised case?

If their plan was to update the LN and BLNR, why wouldn’t they announce that at Basel. I think it would be fairly noteworthy to be able to say the GMT line is going to have 70 hr power reserve, etc.

I haven't followed previous years' releases close enough, so here's a question... does Rolex have a history of announcing a new reference to a model family (e.g., GMT, sub, etc.) that has a new movement and then quietly introduce the same movement to existing color schemes/models throughout the year? Do you need a Basel announcement for something like this to happen?

This video does a great job of showing that Rolex got the BLNR bezel correct; blue is blue and black is black.

The Pepsi blue is not blue and the red is not red; the video captured the bezel looking quite purple and pink. I know the bezel was very challenging to create but it is not a perfect execution. Id say the lighting is bad but all other watches seemed to have nice crisp coloring. I still like it though:)

The root beer GMT coloring is definitely something one needs to get used to.

Read my post #73 "Back from Baselworld Ref 116710 BLNR not in Rolex book" thread 2 days ago and check how I've spelt this gentleman's name the first time before making any comments...
