So I just acquired my first H. Moser. The AD wanted to start a relationship with me. He offered me a Streamliner Centre seconds which I fell in love with at first sight. I asked him to set it aside as I needed to arrange some funding.

This watch turned out to be the last gift my father gave me. He passed unexpectedly but peacefully last Thursday. He was 81 and lived a great life. We shared a passion for watches.

I have small but flat wrists with a 16 cm circumference. I can easily wear a Rolex GMT. AP ROC 26320 was my upper limit. The Streamliner bracelet does not fit as snugly as I would like. Really disappointing as I know this will bother me.

I reached out to Moser to understand if there might be a fix. I am told that they are working on a solution! Try that with a Rolex! I will update the thread in due course. Fingers are crossed.

Finally got a strap that fits for my first Moser. The dial is incredible and I love the way the strap complements it. I especially like how Moser thought through every little detail of this piece, from the curved case back, to being able to advance the date in both directions, including month changes, being able to safely advance the date even around midnight, etc etc. Just such a great overall experience

Thoughts on the Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse x The Armoury?

I want to call it the H. Moser Spinal Tap (none more black) :smoking:

PS: My Muse loves it, we both agree on the RG version so went ahead and put in a deposit for their lottery. Plus it's one of those pieces we both can wear.

OMG you saw it in person?!!?!!? WOW!!!

So, is it as seXXXy as I'm thinking? Only one other time in my life have i sooo deeply feel in love instantly, and that was an early RD with Breguet indices and a fancy crystal. My Muse / wife loves this H. Moser big time too, so if we get it have a feeling it'll be a 'who gets to wear' moment during events (she ALWAYS wins of course, because within my life ladies always come first... ALLways :) ).

A most humble thanks. Yeah, agreed, the strap is ok, yet very easy to correct that plus, as many know, have books and books (and books) filled with straps. So that's easy to 'fix' :)

PS: Did a few photoshops, the stock strap works really well. Adds depth visually for balance. Looks comfortable, bet it's the softer type.

Still, please allow me to reserve the right to wear an Hermes orange strap, too, from time to time.

PPS: If anyone from H. Moser is reading this, everyone else is doing Tiffany blue, so go Hermes orange dial (and I'm calling first dibs!).

Haha yes super fortunate to have been able to pop by and check it out in person. It’s truly a beautiful piece. Only criticism would be pairing the vantablack dial with such a reflective crystal - why this was the way they went I will never know

This was answered by the armoury in the comments of the hodinkee write up:

Quote:
2. How much effect does the crystal have? Well, it's definitely noticeable. When the watch is being assembled with no crystal on it, the effect is something else. I found my eyes could not physically focus on the dial because there was no sense of the depth of the object. I'm releasing a video tomorrow that goes through some of the more technical aspects of the watch as we designed it. Crystal technology does hold back the full potential of Vantablack. We mitigated it by using AR coatings on the front and back and keeping the majority of the crystal relatively flat. Earlier Vantablack models were on the Venturer case with a domed crystal which made it harder to avoid reflection. The Armoury's model is derived from the Endeavour case.

^^^ great info, thx!

Vantablack is indeed a very interesting material to work with. As I posted earlier, if you've never seen it in person it's hard to fully describe. Sooo much nothingness! Makes me wonder how many footcandles / lux a photog would need to 'throw' at it to have a hint of shadowing on the dial from the hands.

I'm just hoping they make the 38mm case a mainstay.

My Mosers

Venturer small seconds. Love the domed sapphire on these.

With a friend’s VC. Love its color, but the VC just doesn’t fit me. You can see the size difference.

Moser has been growing on me, they just seem like a really classy under radar watch.

I think it will be the next.

Beautiful watches.

I love the new perpetual calendar Endeavour, and I especially love the special edition:

Haven’t heard this, but would be all over a vantablack streamliner…preferably just the time only center seconds

i'd LOOOOOOOOOVE to see a Endeavour Small Seconds Total Eclipse x The Armoury yet with rose gold Breguet hour Arabic and RG minute droplets. That would be absolutely epic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A tourbillon, while highly admirable, would mean it'd be priced out of my range :(
