I can confirm this. Comments are rare but I do regularly catch people checking out various watches I wear. Usually at a cocktail lounge or sushi restaurant where you would be sitting next to people. Even if you're wearing an Oris/Tag/Breitling, i've caught non-watch people checking these watches out because the finishing on their bracelets and dials are so obviously superior to what you would see on an "instagram watch" or a fashion watch. So i've gotten a few looks based on that. People that don't notice those would then only really recognize a datejust or sub. This is why I don't mind wearing other brands besides Rolex though. Omega, Tudor, and brands like this... though not the obvious display of "wealth" that Rolex is, they do seem to project good taste. Much like a woman looking down and noticing a man wearing a nice pair of oxfords or chelsea boots. |

Only three times in the 20 or so months I've owned a 114060 ND Sub. The first time was while we were at a farmers' market and the guy at the third wave coffee cart said he liked my Sub and my fiance's Pelagos LHD and he'd never seen a woman wearing one (he knew both models specifically and was clearly a WIS). Second time was when I was a vendor at a local crafts pop-up event (I make and sell leather goods as a hobby turned into a very small business) and the guy said that I must make a good living to be wearing such an expensive watch. He also mentioned that he would never buy a Rolex because of the association to flashiness (which I somewhat can understand). I tried to change the subject but we ended up talking about vintage watches for a bit so it turned out alright. The third time was at my work's internal cafe while I was in line picking up lunch and an executive pointed at and poked my watch before I realized what was happening and said that ND Subs are hot right now and he mentioned he owned a SD before walking off before I could even get a word in. I've had maybe 4-5 people make comments on my Speedmaster Pro in 9 years of ownership of that watch (outside of sales clerks at stores, etc.).
Also, when I stop by an AD I like to wear long sleeves and have the watch crown just barely peek out or if I am wearing short sleeves I will cross my arms over my chest to hide the watch I am wearing and watch the SA's try to size me up :) |

Remember going to a Tesla showroom once and had a nice chat with the sales rep. Passed on my contact details and shook hands before leaving. Noticed he glanced at the shiny Jubilee bracelet on my Pepsi while shaking hands. For the next couple of weeks he wouldn't stop messaging me about availability.

No. My shirt is usually over it. In the summer I guess a little. I don’t really want it noticed.

No one really cares to be honest.
Those who actually see it are typically those who are well-versed in the watch community and/or a watch AD that carries higher brands. Just like buying a higher-end car or clothing, the SA usually takes a look at what you drive or wear prior to serving you. |

Florida is definitely watch geek heaven. Loads of people wearing nice watches here, myself included. Lots of people notice, but few comment.

Both my Subc and coke 16710 have been noticed, but it is a rare event. Comments include "That's a very shiny watch", "Are you a diver?", and "I love your watch" from a true WIS.
Strangest encounter was at a dinner party. I sat next to fellow I'd met a few times before. He was wearing a Milgaus. I had the Sub on my wrist. I said "Nice Milgaus". He replied that it was a fake, and that he had lots of Rolex fakes. I got five minute explanation about where and why and how he bought them. I nodded and listened with the Sub in plain view. And he never even glanced to see what I had on my wrist. So he apparently wanted to be seen with fake Rolexes, but was unconcerned about anyone else wearing one, real or fake. Which was just fine with me. |

Very rarely.
In the last year, the only watch that got noticed was not Rolex, but my Breitling Superocean Heritage! |

It’s very odd. You have those who say that can’t justify wearing such an expensive time piece but yet wear replicas proudly. As if those wearing a real Rolex are crazy. It would have definitely been a weird conversation. From the what I gather he seems like he was a narcissist. Wore it for attention. Didn’t care if it was fake and was actually proud of the fact it was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If I’m travelling on a packed train or tube in London and my arm is up holding onto a pole I always notice people analyzing my watch.
I do the same to watches I see too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

If so, most arent commenting...
Black dial 16570 daily wear for 16 years and not a single comment. The topic of Rolex came up in the office one day and I casually commented about my Rolex. The whole office was shocked that I owned a Rolex and that they had been around me daily for 5-6 years and had never noticed. I appreciate that about the 16570 and I feel like I can wear it anywhere. It flies under the radar.
On the other hand, I picked up a speedy pro on the croc strap two years ago that I wear occasionally. I have received two 'nice watch' or 'I really like your watch' comments from non-WIS on the moonwatch. Amazing to me since it doesn't get a ton of wrist time compared to the Exp2. More recently (July 2019) I picked up a fluted jubilee white dial 126334 and have had several comments from strangers on it already. At least one knew what it was but the others did not. I see people looking at the 126334 all the time, but in their defense, the white dial fluted on jubilee throws light like a disco ball. |

"Do many people notice or comment on your watch?"
Only really twice in 24 years. Two colleagues (Explorer and Air King wearers) noticed it immediately, but that's about it. Oddly, the Nomos Tangente I bought last summer from my Rolex AD was noticed almost immediately that very same evening at a party, and attracted very interested, positive comments! My Nomos is, imho, a beautiful watch, completely different to my Sub! |

no one notices and that's fine. Just wearing the watch makes me feel good and that's all that matters to me.

At least once, possibly twice or thrice, in the past ten years.
